Excellent place to grab a nice lunch or dinner before seeing a first rate performance at the Central City Opera. Only open during the summer opera festival, but well worth a visit!

Came for a late lunch before the opera. The service was perfect and so was the food. I had a plate of roasted chicken with creamy grits, flavorful mushrooms and asparagus. I are every bite and wished for more! This is a gem in Central City. Don't waste your money on the casino food.

Faces is open for dinner before the Central City summer Opera events and is a good option for pre-theatre fare. The menu is varied and delicious, especially considering the limited nature of dining options in Central City. Rouge, the companion restaurant, may be full of reservations but try Faces for similar food. Located next to the Teller Opera House the... More

Check if any of the places in Central City are open when the opera is not in progress. For example a thrift shop across the street is only open on Weds. between the hrs. of about 11:00 until 2:00 ,it closes before the opera even begins. The casinos serve food, but..... So the Teller Houses itself and with it the... More

Kevin Taylor is known for great restaurants in Denver. There needs to be more quality control in this seasonal/opera-related restaurant. Friend had a Cobb salad, no turkey in the salad...woops! One had chicken salad advertised with aioli dressing, but served with same vinaigrette, same as the Cobb salad. Chicken salad had generous portion of cubes of chicken. Very tasty. Nice... More

After an awful delay on I-70, we flung ourselves at the bar and asked, "do you serve sandwiches?" Indeed they did, and the bartender presented ice water and menus in a flash. We said we have 35 minutes before the opera. Voila, we had a beer, a glass of excellent Chardonnay, and a pulled pork sandwich in the blink of... More

The internet leads you to this, what could be interesting attraction, but failed to mention that they are not open 80% of the year. The opera house was also closed. This was a huge disappointment,

We enjoyed our time in the Atrium - a sunny space behind this historic bar. The salad included all tasty, fresh ingredients, and was perfect for a light lunch before the opera. Our waiter, Brian, was attentive and was correct in his recommendation of a very chocolate selection for dessert. We're going back again this week.

Poor Central City lacks good restaurants. Rouge was not open for a Sunday matinee, so this is the nicest place to eat near the opera house. The surroundings are classic (the town was built during the silver and gold rush years in the 1870s) but boring. The chairs are uncomfortable. The food is average, mostly sandwiches, fries and kettle chips,... More

Central City is replete with casinos. If you're looking for a meal away from the casinos that is tasty and reasonable in cost, this is the place. The Face Bar on the first floor of the Teller House is a great place to meet for dinner before the Central City Opera. The food choices are excellent. (A month later I... More
