We were exploring and stumbled upon the Castle Cafe - what a treat! Our server was so kind and friendly. She was eager to share her knowledge of the menu and of the local area. We had the fried chicken and it was WONDERFUL! We'll be back!

If you like history and a good burger this is the place for you! An authentic old west saloon turned into a restaurant. There is still a feel of the old west about the place which is nice. The service is friendly and the burgers are really good. Not crowded if you go for a late lunch but you have... More

We picked this place based on the trip advisor review and we really felt like we hit the jackpot. The food was incredible... including the banana cream/chocolate dessert. My friends had the smoke meat entrée (they especially loved the sausage) and I had the chicken fried steak (the gravy is like homemade!!) The drinks were very generous on the alcohol.... More

We were visiting family in Castle Rock and headed to the Cafe for an early dinner. They love this local eatery with lots of "old town" charm. Excellent beer and wine menu and the food offerings were varied and many home-style with their Fried Chicken being at the top of the list. We however did not have the Chicken but... More

With so many eateries in this small town it is hard to remember the great old standbys. On this occasion when an old and dear friend came to town I had suggested meeting at another restaurant. When it was closed we walked several blocks to the Castle Cafe on the main street of town. We were pleasantly surprised by the... More

Couldn't have been happier when I picked this place to meet a friend from elementary school and her mom for lunch. The waitress was most accommodating when they were late and we stayed 3 hours - at least 90 minutes after the plates were removed. The place is old - like 150 years old and been serving food since the... More

Great food and great atmosphere. I'm from the south and their fried chicken is as good as any you can get back home. Served family style with endless sides its well worth the price. The green chili is great as well!

We tried the Castle Cafe based on a local's recommendation . . . Two words for you - Fried Chicken !! The meal is served family style with soup or salad, pan fried chicken, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy. Loved it !! Very flavorful - crispy outside, moist and tender inside. There were five of us and had plenty of... More

2nd visit over the yesrs. Ordered the famous chicken dinner. Remembered having it a few years ago. Disappointed. .. was bland. Needed more flavor. On the other hand, our friends raved about the trout dinner.
