This was the first place we ate during our stay in castle rock and it set the trip off to a delicious start. The portion sizes were very good- I even had to take some of my calzone back to the hotel to enjoy later....Would definitely recommend!More
My daughter got a gift card and wanted to take our family of 5 out to eat. The restaurant was super nice, not just a local pizza place. Everything from the cool lights to the beautiful wood decor to the super nice disposable napkins was...quality. The food was even better! Bruschetta, fettuccini alfredo, margherita pizza...it was all wonderful. Our waitress, Laura, was sweet and attentive. But when we got our bill, our never-been-used gift card read zero dollars. Not sure what happened so I paid with my credit card. Then I asked Laura if cards expire or if there was something unusual about our card or what? She spoke to a manager. Before it was all over, they returned our gift card loaded for our next trip. We were humbled to know they trusted us and wanted us to come back! And come back we will. Even if they hadn't taken care of us, we'd already all decided we had to come back for the great atmosphere, attentive staff, and amazing food!More
We stopped here on the way home from Denver a few weeks ago (we live in Colorado Springs). We needed a place to eat after a day of running around and this was one of the spots that had outdoor seating, which is essential in...these COVID times. It was cold, so there weren't many people there, so we were seated quickly. The outdoor patio had the propane "pyramid" style heaters which were cool looking but didn't provide a whole lot of heat. Still, we were hungry so we hung around. We started with the risotto bites which were OK, though not great. They could have used a little more seasoning, but they were good to warm us up a little. We ordered two pizzas--the kids' size for our son and a 16" Sicillian Porco Calabria for the two adults. The pizzas were great--crunchy crust, if a little thicker than we usually get--and the calabria peppers provided a great mild heat to the pie. The pizza was so big we had leftovers for a few days, even though we attacked it with abandon. Considering that the server had to come out into the cold several times to take care of us and the two other occupied tables, she did a great job.
I would definitely recommend Z'Abbracci. Though it's a little expensive compared to some of the chains, it's some of the best pizza we've had in a long time, so it's worth it.More
I really like this place, great food, supported by a very good bar.
Pizzas take a long time so be ready to fill the time (so you better have/be good company). The dining room is very loud, I wish it was a bit quieter, its...the only reason we dont go there is the conversation space gets tight if you have more than a few people.
Post Covid, we will be back.More
The pizza process is a fine art in Colorado. The altitude makes dough difficult to work with - This place has nailed it! Amazing dough and even better toppings. I recommend the basil pesto pie and Sicilian veggie. Ask for the Calabrian chilis!
Placed a delivery order at 540 and was told it would take 45 minutes. After 65 minutes called to check on order and was told “ we were waiting on the wings but we’ll pack it up and it will be out to you. Sorry...we’re slammed”. Another 30 minutes go by and we call again speaking to manager Sarah who was rude and said “4 orders went out yours didn’t”. At this point
We asked to have our order cancelled and our charge be credited. We were hung up on and were CHARGED for the cancelled order. Horrible experience and never did eat dinner. 👎👎More
I am from Chicago and loved the Pizza. The best I have had outside of Chicago. The service was poor to mediocre. I went at lunch time on a Saturday. I ordered an $8.95 tossed salad to share. It consisted of 2 or 3 shavings...of Parmesan, one slice of cucumber and one grape tomato and the rest was lettuce. I ended up talking to the owner/manager. He said that is the way they make salads???? Oh well. I would order take out pizza for sure. Also, the staffs attitude toward requests was very rude and poor. This is something that could easily be fixed with an attitude adjustment and a few more tomatoes and cucumbers.More
