The food is amazing but it definitely lacks in service. We arrived and there were plenty of associates behind the bar that could have helped us get seated and did not. Had to wait for the host. We were finally seated and the service was...extremely slow. Server took a long time to take out order. He apologized but gave us excuses. We didn’t really want to hear what was happening behind the scenes (taking care of managerial stuff, issues with P card). Lesson: know your audience. Server didn’t note down what we ordered and of course forgot the kids waters and I think their meals as well. All adults were served first and we almost finished our food and the kids meal was still not our. When you have children they always come first as their patience and good behavior time span is limited. The buzzers never removes the dirty dishes or cutlery. The server brought extra water but never poured it nor removed the dirty dishes. And again, I think they forgot the children’s meal. I was about to walk to the kitchen when finally their food was out. There was enough staff, but it seemed disorganized and not focused or doing too many things at the same time except serving their customers. In the end they removed the children’s meals and gave us a discount, which we appreciate but the service level is definitely below par. I know we are going through hard times but the place has all kinds of styles, it’s definitely eclectic. The chairs look from an old casual bar, table tops are granite and don’t match the ‘old’ canteen look, then there are the skis...More

Great whiskey selection, fair pricing considering a resort town. Had nearly the full Orphan Barrel selections, Antique Collection, Weller (including the new single barrel), and many more. I wasn't in the mood for their food selections but will definitely eat there next time. Had a...little 2017 Stagg and it was excellent. Well over an ounce pour ($35). Cheers!More

My wife and I decided to take a day-trip to Breckenridge, and include with our outing a nice dinner, which is why we had picked Modis. In reading past reviews, the restaurant seemed to be well-received, and we very much looked forward to eating there....I wish that we had chosen an alternative place to dine. We started with a couple of small plates, which were good, but not great (certainly not worth the price). After having eaten those (along with ordering a couple of drinks) we actually contemplated closing out our tab and going elsewhere. Ultimately, we decided to stay with the hope that the larger plates (entrees) would be better, and more worth the money. Unfortunately, they were not; again, good, but not great (not worth the cost). We had also asked for a substitution on one of the sides (which we were told was not a problem), but it ended up coming to the table wrong. We asked our server if they would get us the side that we asked for; they did, but also charged us for the side. They make the mistake, but we paid for it. Also, the Filet seemed very small, even for a 6 oz. portion. Upon leaving, I noticed other Filet's being delivered to other guests that look to be much larger, and way more appetizing. The final disappointment was after leaving the restaurant, we walked around Main Street for a bit (mostly looking for dessert, which we did not order at Modis), and the sandwich board in front of the restaurant advertised, "Happy Hour" 3 - 6 pm. We had ordered three cocktails prior to 6 pm (all of which were on the Happy Hour Menu) but were charged full price. Again, we did not see this until after we had left the restaurant. The difference that we overpaid for the three cocktails, and the side dish was huge, but it was the principle of the matter. In the end, Modis was a huge disappointment, and we do not plan on returning.More

The food is absolutely amazing and I have been to many restaurants in the area. This restaurant is without a doubt the best place in Breckenridge. The atmosphere is awesome, the bar is inviting and the food is incredible. The flavors that are put together...are really tasty and I will be back every time I am in town.More

Great atmosphere, amazing food and an interesting wine list. This place is amazing! We first visited 2 yrs ago as a coiled and were very impressed. This year we brought friends along and they also loved it.

I last reviewed this place 7 years ago and it was disappointing due to slow service preventing us from even ordering dinner after an hour wait. This visit started off somewhat similar so I was apprehensive. We were seated at 5:45 but didn't get a...chance to give our drink order until well after 6. After that things went well, and my apprehension level dropped. Whew! It is such a neat place, I hate to have the hassles. A really neat building, with a beautiful winding staircase. Our table had the porkchop, a fish plate, steak and "veggie." The veggie dish is under-named, because it is spectacular. Probably the best fried tofu I've ever tasted. I had the porkchop, which is actually a double chop with a very healthy portion of pork belly. I took some home and happily ate it the next day. The menu says they'll cheerfully do substitutions, and indeed they do. The appetizers and drinks we had were excellent. None of it cheap, approx $300 for four persons but we were eating and drinking healthily. I would go again and hope my experience is more like this visit than the one 7 years ago.More

We really enjoyed dinner and drinks at Modis. The bar has something for everyone, even hard to find bourbon. The lamb was excellent, as was the fried chicken. It seems to be a very popular place, so it's a good idea to make a reservation.

We visited Modis after a recommendation from our DoubleTree Shuttle driver. We told him we wanted somewhere to enjoy some unique cocktails. We visited for Happy Hour and arrived at about 3:30 PM. The cocktails were creative and delicious, which was what we wanted. However,...we were not prepared for what would happen next. At about 4:15 PM, a server came to our table and told us that they had numerous reservations and that we would need to leave soon. I assure you we had no intention of staying all evening, but we did intend to try another cocktail, which we did not. We promptly paid our bill and left. There are many places to have a great meal and drinks in Breckenridge, and I suggest that you try one of them and forgo Modis.More

Modis is one of the best restaurants in Breckenridge - a hidden gem. From the bar staff to the hosts to the waiters, everything was perfect. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me and my family on a recent visit from out...of town. The result was one of the best dinners I've ever had. Thank you Modis!More

This isn't my restaurant. I am sure they'd love to work with you however. They are really nice people.

It should be? It is a regular restaurant, not a catering place.
