The eggplant buns were delicious, but the grilled squid was destroyed by overcooking and heavy sauce, the grilled romaine was doused with the same thick, overly sweet sauce.

Yelp recommended My Ramen as the best in Boulder. I was disappointed. My reference point is Futo Buta in Charlotte, NC. The ramen was good but I prefer the thicker broth and chunky veggies at FB. The wait staff was also “ok”. I probably won’t...return.More

I did not come here for a long time because I thought it was a noodle place. It is not. They have great Noodles, but they really have Japanese Tapas. From better than usual Miso Soup, to some Sushi , fried things like Corn ?...and Potato's , Oysters , Chicken, Fish, Some Japanese Pancakes, Rice and Noddle Bowls, Interesting beverages. Great for Vegetarians.More

We really enjoyed our first visit. Everything was hot and delicious. The Tonkatsu Ramen is definitely some of the better ramens around that I've had. Very reasonable prices and our service was great.

Love this place. So many tapas options. Squid dumplings outrageous! Curry ramen really good. Nice speciality selections.

This place is worth finding. It's location in a small strip mall in north east Boulder delivers on Ramen and a few other classic Japanese goodies.

Its hard to see if you are not looking for it but its worth a try . I like the miso ramen or the spicy ramen(tonkotsu). Both good choices. We have been going here a number of times and its always good. Only ding I...could give the ramen is that the pork belly seems to be microwave reheated sometimes. But the pork belly is the way to go in my opinion . Have not tried many other items on the menu but the ramen is good.More

Previous reviews I read seemed a bit mixed, but I took a chance on this little strip mall restaurant and I am glad I did. Tasty ramen is always a pleasure and this little restaurant did a nice job of presenting me what I expected....I ordered the spicy ground pork ramen (next time I might order even more spice as I like heat). Nothing disappointed. The broth was fragrant with a bit of spice and filled with just the right amount of ramen noodles (some restaurants overdo and I like a nicer balance of broth to noodles/goodies). In any case, I would return next time I am in town.More

SUM. The ramen bowls are quite expensive and that is the only reason I gave a 3 star rating over 4 star for the meal we had. RAMEN. Miso Ramen broth was not too salty and had a different taste than what I am used...to. I liked it but found the noodles had no flavor without the broth. I loved the fixins (steamed cabbage and woodear mushrooms) which made the dish filling without having to gorge on all of the noodles. Two large pieces of pork that were a little over cooked but tasty nonetheless. AGEDASHI. I love trying agedashi at any new Japanese restaurant I go to. This one had a nice crispy shell but lacked flavor on its own. The broth was tasty but I would have loved a little more garnish. SAKE. House hot sake was tasty - perfectly hot and not too sweetMore

I think this ramen is really good. Lovely half raw egg placed on top. The char siu in there is perfectly cooked and seasoned too. But portions are smaller than in Japan, you will leave hungry if all you eat is ramen. The egg rolls...are nicely fried and seasoned but I don't like the mushy insides. This place would cost you half as much in Tokyo.More

Had Average meal at My Ramen & Izakaya in Boulder, Colorado. Food was good overall but did not like some of the items. Did not like Octopus dumpling and have had much better shrimp tempura elsewhere.

Lunch specials are reasonably-priced and the Chicken Katsu Rice Bowl was tasty. Good spot for a quick bite if you're interested in some Japanese tapas. I enjoyed the octopus, tempura and potstickers.

Having spent 3 weeks in Japan patronizing many ramen houses and izakaya last year, this place is mediocre at best. I had the tantanmen ramen for lunch, which at first appearance looks promising, but the flavor is completely one dimensional and lacks any depth or...complexity. The texture of the noodles were OK, but i can make better ramen at home. At $10 per bowl, it was somewhat expensive as well, as the ramen in Japan was around $8. My server, the cook in the kitchen, and the bossman sitting in the back were all speaking Chinese, which leads me to think they are Chinese, so not one actual Japanese person in sight. I have noticed that many Japanese style restaurants in the Boulder area are actually run by Chinese or Koreans, which confirms my notions that Japanese cuisine is much more marketable to a white American audience. Then again, maybe my expectations were too high, as I don't go to Japan to eat Huevos Rancheros, beignets and grits, or a bacon cheeseburger. Oh yeah, when i got to the bottom of my ramen, I found a hair clinging to the side of the bowl.More

I went here for the first time today since I noticed that it had opened. I lived in Japan for a number of years so I ate a lot of ramen and as a result, yeah, I am a little picky about ramen and other...supposedly Japanese food abroad. I got the lunch special - ramen and the accompanying egg rolls. The egg rolls were perfectly fried, but the vegetarian filling was frankly disgusting. A mushy tasteless mess of carrots and cabbage. The shoyu ramen took a long time to come, more than ten minutes. But it was really really good. The egg was just cooked, the wood ear fungus was crunchy and delicious, and the pork belly was tasty and also perfectly cooked. The ramen was lovely, just the right amount of al dente and the flavor was excellent. I drank some of the broth, it was nice. Service was friendly and cordial. I would definitely go back here, but I hope they pick up the pace a little and get a new recipe for those spring rolls.More
