Everyone loved their dishes! The restaurant is small and intimate. Our party of 7 felt comfortable at the high top table in the center of the dining room. We had gazpacho (with custom toppings), delicious breAd, burrata, and a variety of the pastas and sauces. The taste, texture, and temperature of each dish was perfect. Already planning to return.

This little treasure located just off Arapahoe and 30th Street is a lucky find. We ate outside at a protected sidewalk table after finding the tables inside filled and/or reserved, showing how very popular this family-run restaurant is! Mariano quickly accommodated us, however, and thus began an experience of impeccable service and delectable fare. We started with the bruschetta. Our entrees included Chicken Francese, Eggplant Ravioli and Lamb Ravioli. Of note is that Il Pastaio has no less than 15 choices for ravioli on their menu! And so many sauces to choose from! We ended with tiramisu and flan... so yummy!

We were celebrating our son-in-laws birthday. He selected Il Pastaio based on reviews he had read. The staff did not disappoint! Great service and great food. The Italian sausage ravioli was delicious! My wife truly enjoyed her veal parm. Said it was the best she has ever tasted.

In Boulder for a football game, our son took us to Il Pastaio, a restaurant he had wanted to check out for sometime. We all left disappointed. Read on for details. Arriving a few minutes early for our 7:15p reservation we waited until a seat finally cleared from the very busy restaurant. We were seated and menus provided. Service was fast and friendly. We each order the tricolor salad with instructions for "dressing on the side", the fresh burrata appetizer, a vegetarian paparadelle dish and cioppino. The burrata was fresh with streams of balsamic and olive oil on the plate. Serving it up on the fresh bread were the dinner highlights. The bread was outstanding, as good as any restaurant bread and baked on premises. As the waiter served the salads, he set them down emphasizing "...with dressing on the side." In fact, there salads were slathered in dressing and not one we were impressed with. The pasta and cioppino both shared a common tomato-dominated flavor palate, like tomato paste. Both dishes were generic. We have had cioppino at an array of Italian restaurants across the country; this was the most disappointing. Our pasta loving son left 90% of his paparadelle behind. Highlights: the service, the bread, the burrata. On the other hand, the restaurant was packed and everyone else seemed to be enjoying dinner.

This place got great reviews both on line and with our host. We had pasta with a tomato/basil sauce that was terrible. So bad we sent it back, sticky past and heavy sauce. To their credit, they didn't charge us for anything but the (very thin) slices of chicken which was nicely seasoned and the flan which was also very heavy, but sweet. It is a very small space and the service was excellent.

I cannot believe people in the hospitality industry can get away with being so RUDE. My family and I have been looking forward to coming here for 2 years. My son, his girlfriend and I finally had the opportunity to have lunch here today. When we walked in I asked if we could sit anywhere and would it be ok if my son propped his leg up on one of the chairs because he was on crutches. The woman in charge snapped as if those were insulting questions. With a sneer on her face and sarcasm in her voice, she told me I needed to order at the counter and then sit. She didn’t care if my son put his leg on a chair as long as he didn’t interfere with other customers. And now the rude part….I understood that we were to order an entree, vegetable and they would give us salad and bread. I asked to have 2 entrees on one plate and 2 vegetables on the other plate. She told me that she absolutely would not do that. Said if that is what we wanted we could switch the food around after she gave it to us. At that point I just had to laugh and look around to see if there was a hidden camera and someone pulling a practical joke on us.

First time in Colorado and first time here. A quaint little place with all high bar style tables and chairs. We had reservations and were seated immediately. (I recommend reservations as place is small) bread was fresh and warm. Bruschetta was perfect. All the pastas were delicious, as were the different sauces. Sorry we are leaving tomorrow as we definitely would have come back. Next time!

The Lobster Ravioli with Aurora (tomato and cream) sauce was delicious. The pasta and sauce are all homemade and it truly was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had! My husband ordered the Linguini Mare Nero and thought it was good but not great. It just didn't compare to my Lobster Ravioli. The service was great. My only complaint service-wise is that we made a reservation but still had to wait. It's a charming little place. It's just a little too cramped for me. I get really nervous being that close to strangers while I'm having dinner, especially during covid. Overall, I enjoyed the food but I would take it to go. The to-go cook at home packages seem like a better bang for your buck anyway.

Very well made homemade Italian. Ambiance is like a tucked away hidden gem. Tables are mostly like stand-up coctail tables which can be uncomfortable for the elderly but the food is immaculate. Service needs to be more welcoming and smiles are missing for no reason, but they are accomodating.

Wow, this place has wonderful food and service. Small, only 10 tables inside, 2 tables outside so you need reservations for dinner. Service was excellent, the food was freshly made and delicious. My only negative was that all the tables are high tops and it was difficult for my 84 your old mother to climb onto the chair.

Come here for the good northern italian food (not the service). Unfortunately, the meatballs leave much to be desired as they're barely seasoned and actually tasted like just boiled beef. I would pay twice the price for a decent meatball but wouldn't take these again if they were free. Apparently, the bread is different since Covid shutdown. The lasagna is excellent and the spaghetti bolognese is my favorite. Definitely make sure you get the mousse and regardless of the level of service, tip the guy twice as much as things have been hard on restaurants.

I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants but this has been the worst food I have ever experienced. The spaghetti was like mush, like a mashed potato. My wife's lasagna had no taste and was cold. Absolutely the worst food I have eaten in a long time. Not even sure how this place can stay in business with such awful food.

Our family of six were all able to find something super yummy, and the service was great. The owner checked in on us a few times which shows how much care is taken to provide excellent service and a great experience. Small, intimate atmosphere but it was quaint and we really enjoyed it.

Staying in Boulder and wanted some good Italian food. Did not want to go to the tourist places on Pearl Street. When I looked at the reviews, I knew this was the place. We got there late- 6:45, and they close at 8. Did not have a reservation, but Mariano (sorry if I did not spell that correctly), the owners son, fit us in with a lovely little table in the hallway. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. You could understand why the hallway wall was covered with reviews from magazines and newspapers. This family works hard to make this a top notch dining experience. Everything was delicious. Next time in Boulder, we will have a reservation!

Small establishment with plenty of free parking close by. Always full! Good reason for that! Outstanding friendly and helpful service. Great food. Authentic minestrone soup. Homemade flans and chocolate mousse desserts!
