This is the place for fresh local food in an upscale yet casual atmosphere. Soft lighting, attentive service, creative menu. Local farms are the main source of the menu ingredients and are listed on the wall. The service is spot-on.

my friend brought me here: locally sourced and labeled, yay, with excellent ingredients. Had a to-die lamb shank, some deelish pear vanilla sorbet -- amazing!

Hard to beat The Kitchen. Creative menu featuring locally produced food, impeccably prepared. Atmosphere is fun and lively. Great place for a couple to dine together or for a family. Also a perfect place to take visitors for a "taste of Boulder." Kitchen Next Door is first-rate, too, especially for lunch.

It was pretty packed when I visited, because it was saturday lunch time. I like the modern atmosphere, and it has nice boulder vibe, too. Food was also good.

Situated right on Pearl Street, The Kitchen is a great watering hole and feeding station - and you will need both after the walk through the shops of Pearl Street in the centre of Boulder. The service was attentive - and all the servers loved that we had a baby with us and made her the centre of attention! We... More

This place gets rave reviews in Boulder and you absolutely need a reservation in advance if you want to try it out. The service was fabulous- friendly, responsive, and fast without rushing you. The food was good - the chef does need to work on cooking steaks to the temperature they are ordered (both were a bit overdone) - but... More

First stop is always, The Kitchen. Not the Kitchen Next Door but The Kitchen. Always a fresh farm to table menu. But, I can never get enough of their delicious whole-wheat nut bread, I always enjoy their cheese board and salads. The Look: Crisp and bright with lots of white and wooden farm tables. No matter what time you arrive... More

We really like the concept and style of The Kitchen but the food is lacking. It's not 'bad' it's just not great. We keep trying it again... go every 5-6 months and always leave saying 'That was okay'. You won't ever go and have a bad meal, but you also won't go and be wowed. Details: Butternut Squash Ravioli with... More

Was eager and excited to eat there. Had an overly excited (annoying) waitress, who kept pushing items that weren't particularly good. The sweet potato hush puppies were dry and tasteless, the cabbage salad was ok, the fish was very good. The pot au chocolate was overly sweet and gooey. Just extremely disappointed. Even the coffee was unsatisfying. I don't get... More

Fantastic staff! Friendly and knowledgeable. Central restaurant offering modern surroundings with a quality menu. Our group shared a chef's platter to start then followed with bolognese pasta, half chicken, quinoa salad and lamb shank. All with quirky twists but deliciously modern. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
