This wooden-shelved bookstore really took me back to the days when Elliott Bay Bookstore was still open here in Seattle WA. You could totally feel the gravitas that saturated the stacks! In one corner, a mom read to her daughter. I didn't want to crowd in too close to listen, but the girl was completely rapt. The bookstore staff were... More

Trident is the best local coffee shop in Boulder! ☕️ But it's not just a coffee shop, it's a place to kick-back, relax, and hang out on their large back patio. If you're looking where to take a new guest from out-of-town, need a place to pull up your computer, or open a book, go to Trident! Also give their... More

Whilst visiting Boulder a few different people had recommended that we visit Trident because "it's one of the best in Boulder", and now we know why. The cafe is steeped in history and when we visited one evening after walking Pearl Street there was a chess tournament under way outside. When we stepped inside it was better still, the clientele... A Boulder must for any local or visitor! Great architecture, atmosphere, service and coffee. *TIP: When front tables are filled grab a spot out back for a little Zen and caffeine.

In a town where coffee shops come and go, the Trident sits as a bastion of boulder. It's been around forever, the vibe is perfect for getting some work done or catching up with a friend, and the hot chocolate is actually good. You can't ask for much more

Boulder wouldn't be Boulder without Trident. The Trident Cafe and Book sellers has been on the West end of Pearl for well over 30 years, there is a sense of timeless ness that is so comforting. It's not the newest or fanciest or most sophisticated but it's the coolest and the most comfortable and a Boulder classic! The coffee is... More

On Pearl street, one of the oldest cafes and bookstores still hanging on. Go buy a book or get some great coffee or hot chocolate. Grab a table, take out your laptop or just read the paper. Fun place to people watch. A few outdoor tables where you can sit, have a coffee and watch the world go by on... More

Cool independent bookstore. I understand it's been there since the 60's. It was crowded, but manageable. The service in the coffee shop was good. Selection was fairly limited, but they offered all the basics. The book selection was excellent.

Nice people who work there, but on Pearl St. so you get to deal with vagrants- can add to, or subtract from, the experience. Most get it and if you wave them off they will move on with no words spoken. Earlier hours of the day it is a delightful place with motivated people who frequent and a very good... More

I love this place—it's a Boulder treasure. Wooden interior with a few places to sit in the actual bookstore—for book lovers, it's heaven—quiet peaceful with a great image of Kerouac by the bar.
