Trident cafe and bookstore has been a part of my life since the mid 1980s and although I no longer live in Boulder when I visit I still go there with backgammon board in hand for a throw back of the good ole days. Each time I return I find that Trident still has it! That rare unforced sense of... More

Step back in time at the Trident Cafe. Excellent coffee and pastries plus used book store. Great experience.

You purchase a tea or coffee, and then sit at a table, and ....watch. This place has some of the great personalities of Boulder coming in to read the newspaper over coffee. The drinks are fine, but the culture is thick. Then pay your dues to this old landmark, and buy a book or another coffee. Finally, you can earn... More

Friends and I visited Trident while exploring the Pearl Street Mall. I didn't get to look around as much as I would have liked due to the cramped space available in this store, but did select a few very unique post cards to send back home! Definitely worth a stop.

This wooden-shelved bookstore really took me back to the days when Elliott Bay Bookstore was still open here in Seattle WA. You could totally feel the gravitas that saturated the stacks! In one corner, a mom read to her daughter. I didn't want to crowd in too close to listen, but the girl was completely rapt. The bookstore staff were... More

Trident is the best local coffee shop in Boulder! ☕️ But it's not just a coffee shop, it's a place to kick-back, relax, and hang out on their large back patio. If you're looking where to take a new guest from out-of-town, need a place to pull up your computer, or open a book, go to Trident! Also give their... More

Whilst visiting Boulder a few different people had recommended that we visit Trident because "it's one of the best in Boulder", and now we know why. The cafe is steeped in history and when we visited one evening after walking Pearl Street there was a chess tournament under way outside. When we stepped inside it was better still, the clientele... A Boulder must for any local or visitor! Great architecture, atmosphere, service and coffee. *TIP: When front tables are filled grab a spot out back for a little Zen and caffeine.

In a town where coffee shops come and go, the Trident sits as a bastion of boulder. It's been around forever, the vibe is perfect for getting some work done or catching up with a friend, and the hot chocolate is actually good. You can't ask for much more

Boulder wouldn't be Boulder without Trident. The Trident Cafe and Book sellers has been on the West end of Pearl for well over 30 years, there is a sense of timeless ness that is so comforting. It's not the newest or fanciest or most sophisticated but it's the coolest and the most comfortable and a Boulder classic! The coffee is... More
