First the margaritas are awesome! Very strong. The rooftop if a fun place to have dinner. Every year when I visit Colorado I eat here. Food is good and staff is friendly.

The Rio is a long time fixture in Boulder. It used to be on Pearl Street, and moved many years ago to its current location. Their margaritas were famous for their taste and potency. I didn't think it was quite as I remembered them, but the food was certainly up to my fond memories. I don't have a particular favorite... More

We came here after hiking for 3 hours on nearby Mt. Sanitas and so hunger would be an understatement describing our condition upon arrival at Rio Grande. Having said that, we received the royal treatment by everyone at this establishment from the sensitive host who made it her mission to find us a quiet place to dine, to the beaming... More

We were seated promptly and our waiter was very attentive and friendly despite being extremely busy. The atmosphere is classy but casual. Rooftop seating is a must-do with a gorgeous fountain to add to the hip and fun atmosphere. We were very impressed with the food and the presentation. Flavors were excellent! Tasted and looked like all fresh ingredients and... More

My friends and I visited here while staying in Boulder and had a fun evening on the rooftop dining area. The sunset views are amazing, friendly staff, happy hour specials and great Mexican food! I'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in downtown Boulder looking for a scenic and fun night with tequila and Mexican food!

This is the best tex-mex restaurant I've been to in Colorado. The food is good, there are free chips and salsa, and service is good. We've been 4-5 times and I haven't been disappointed yet.

For the past few years our group has made an annual visit to Rio Grande when we are in town together. This year, our party of 10 went on a weeknight, and found the restaurant fairly uncrowded. Once seated and having ordered, we watched and waited while tables who had arrived after us ordered, were served and departed long before... More

The title gives you a pretty good clue as to how this visit went. We were a group of 8 colleagues and family members dining at the Rio. When we arrived the place was maybe 1/3 full. Lots of open tables. We were told that we would be seated as soon as 2 tables were moved together. A good 10... More

Tacos were ok, drinks were about the same. It was a nice place to go for an air conditioned meal. Waitstaff was good and got the orders right.
