WOW!!! I am blown away. What restaurant closes at 8pm?? The Cork! I guess they cater only to their elderly population they serve. We arrived at 8:22pm, a reasonable time to expect to get a meal in any U.S. town. But not at the Cork....The hostess told us that they stop seating at 8pm , but to check at the bar. We went to the bar, and the bartender clearly just didn't want to be bothered with us. The sad thing is that this restaurant is going die (go out of business) once all of it's elderly clientele die if they don't change their hours and start bringing in a younger demographic (like us) . They are doing nothing to bring in a younger demographic with their closing time or advertising. Moreover, we live about 5 minutes away. I was excited to go back and try dinner there after having happy hour this fall with friends and being impressed with the menu. They just lost a potential lifetime local nearby customer!! I will never go there again. Such a pity! I hope their management reads this review and reconsiders their hours. NO RESTAURANT SHOULD EVER CLOSE AT 8PM ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIR MAIN MEAL SERVICE IS DINNER. Boulder is NOT a ski town, and even ski towns notorious for their early-to-bed exhausted ski clientele stay open until 9pm.More

The Cork is our go-to restaurant for birthdays and other special occasions. The food last night was delectable: the fishbowl was just right; my sandwich was cooked just as I like it; and the mud pie was to die for! Gretchen did an excellent job...waiting on our table, and we have many happy memories of our birthday celebration. We were not rushed and enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Thank you!More

As a former Boulder resident decades ago, I went to The Cork for special occasions. So glad we’ve continued that pattern during annual visits. Amazing food, genuine and attentive service, and great value. The Boulder Cork could easily compete with the best of the Chicago...steakhouses.More

The food here is delicious! I ordered the Halibut special. I ate every bite! We ordered a mud pie for dessert. I was pretty full, but I tried a small bite. We sat there for a little while, so I ended up having a few...more bites. It was so good!More

Out of all the restaurants in Boulder we chose Cork to celebrate my birthday and my brother’s birthday. According to his doctors this will be the last birthday he will see, so this was a very unique and special night. The staff was pleasant and...seated us right away. The acoustics did nothing to dampen the really loud tables around us. I ordered a cocktail which turned out to be tasty, but about half the size of most cosmos I’ve had. I ordered the halibut special, my wife ordered the filet special (the waiter did not mention the price of these), my brother had a hamburger and my sister-in-law a Caesar salad. The halibut was dry, somewhat fishy and nothing at all like the juicy, flakey, wonderful halibut I’m used to in expensive restaurants. After one bite I pushed it aside. The waiter took it away and offered to get a menu for a different choice. Meanwhile, my brother offered a bite of the hamburger. He ordered medium rare, but it was well done. I’ve had better hamburgers in fast food joints. I then noticed my sister in law wasn’t eating her salad. It was just plain bad. Relatively tasteless, with a fishy, anchovy aspect to it. My wife’s filet was small, but done nicely. It wasn’t til later I discovered that it was actually filet and lobster. But the lobster turned out to be a tiny strip no bigger than a piece of shrimp sitting on top of the meat. All of that was bad enough but when we got the bill I was amazed. They did take the halibut off, but the filet was absurdly expensive for what we got. They offered a free dessert which my brother agreed to. It took awhile to get it and by that time we all just wanted to get out of there. Beyond disappointing. There are so many better choices in Boulder that I highly doubt we’ll ever go back for dinner.More

Our group had an early dinner on Wednesday night. I ordered the flatiron steak off the regular menu and it came out cold and tough for $32! I sent it back nicely and it came back tougher if that was possible and most of the...potatoes not returned on the plate. I have been going to the Cork for over 50 years and must say so disappointed. I miss the white table cloths and elevated atmosphere it use to have for special night out! Hoping it was just an off night!More

Had dinner here on a recent Friday night. The place was packed which is usually a great sign that we have found a gem of a spot. Drinks and apps came quickly and were all above average. Then came the one hour gap between apps...and our entrees. By the time everything came out, most were cold and not edible. Server was apologetic and remade one of the entrees but it came right back out cold. I wouldn’t go back due to the hour wait on food and the mess ups that ensued.More

We went for Happy Hour which goes until 6:00; it a nice menu with plenty of options and good food. We each had Fish n Chips though I debated about the cheese board which I think Robin said has Prosciutto , 2 cheese, 2 jams,...olives, and crackers. I like cheese boards but had one recently so I opted for the fish and chips. I also had a Margarita with salt which was tasty. I normally would have a glass of dry white wine but they offer only a Chardonnay or a red wine and I don't care for those. Then we split the Mud Pie for dessert which was a great choice and delicious. Robin was a very attentive and good waitress and I would highly recommend her.More

I had my small wedding reception at Boulder cork and they did amazing! They were easy to talk to about setting up a meal for my guests, made personalized menus, and accommodated our request for cheesecake as our wedding cake. Every time the staff came...into the room, they had a smile on their face and were so helpful. The food was DELICIOUS!! It had a great atmosphere for our little gathering and I loved the patio attached to the Small Garden Room. 10/10 recommend!More

We had my 80th birthday party here in the Fireside Room last January. We celebrate our anniversaries here. We went here recently when I just didn't want to cook and wanted something more than pizza and chicken wings. We went at Happy Hour and got...a great deal on wine; we had the Happy Hour Prime rib - a perfect size and done to the way I like it. Next week we celebrate our 58th anniversary there with two other couples. We always have great service. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.More

On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this was a solid "Good". We wanted to find a nice steakhouse for a special occasion and Boulder Cork seemed to be the place. It was nice. My minor complaints are as follows- the Caesar salad dressing was OK. I expected...better as it was too oily. The prime rib end was not as flavorful as expected. Perhaps I am spoiled by my crust on my prime rib. The meat was good though med. rare to rare is basically rare here. On the good side, the green chili mac and cheese was excellent. The mushrooms were good as well for sides. The Mud Pie was great. I cannot blame the restaurant for the obnoxious group seated near us that thought it would be great for the entire place to hear their conversation. When the lady with her back to you sounds like she is seated next to you, you know there is an issue...... Overall, I will return!More

We were invited to a retirement party for a local surgeon. A total of 150 guests showed up. The food—appetizer platters essentially—was very good. Drinks were delivered quickly and were good. Our servers were Carol, Kate, Dan, and Daniel. They all did a great job...and we all had a great time. Thank you.More

No,casual attire is fine, but I suggest upscale-casual. In other words, I'd avoid sweatpants, ripped jeans, and plain t-shirts. As with any restaurant, hats should be removed at the table, particularly baseball caps.
