The worst sushi ever. All rice. No fish. Airport sushi that will get you sick. Hated it. Do not come here.

The staff are wonderful and there's something for everyone on the menu. I'm a vegetarian and get great veggie rolls.
Very nice dinner. Very crowded and popular and very noisy, food was excellent. The bill wasn’t terrible. I would recommend it.
Have been here many times. The food is always good. This time the miso soup was outstanding. The sashimi and sushi are always high quality. They have a wide variety of sake choices. The prices are not outrageous.
We've decided to go out for dinner. Zunmai takes reservations for 4+ parties. We walked and waited for couple of minutes to get a table ready. There sushi was really good. Recommend! We are going back again soon.
Suzanna did a terrific job with our order. In the end we had so much food that we had take a. Lot home.Junmai Ginjyo saki was excellent. Enjoyed all the dishes, recommend this restaurant
Friendly and noisy, sushi zanmai sushi was most authentic. The decor and waitstaff were impeccable, helpful but not clinging.
We arrived mid-evening on a Sunday and were immediately shown a table. Service was very friendly, fast and helpful. They even reduced the cold A/C on our request. We had tempura fish and vegetables along with an assortment of sushi. The tempura was OK, while...the sushi was outstanding! Very tasty, well prepared and nicely presented. The seafood was all very fresh. The staff made sure we never ran out of green tea or water. We had a great time and found the bill of $70 for 2 filled stomachs (+ tips) to be fair. Only drawback is the high noise level, which seems to be a problem in most US restaurants, although the rather loud (but good) music didn't help on the ability to have a conversation. I would gladly return another time.More
In Boulder for quite a while, so it must be good. The sushi is fresh and the sushi and sashimi lunch combos, and California rolls were very well made, with lots of extra decoration.
I like sashimi, and it is good here. The atmosphere is authentic, but that means it is busy and noisy. I have been here several times and it has always been busy.
If you'd like to have excellent Japanese food without breaking your budget, this place is for you! The mussels are to die for. I guarantee you've *never* had mussels like these! (And if you normally don't like mussels, you'll love these!)
I had lunch here with my children and a friend. After a few minutes a swarm of flights found us. Somewhat later a sushi order was delivered with dry rice, and supermarket quality fish. Will not return.
I visited a while ago but it was definitely one of my worst dining experiences in Boulder. The worst of the worst part is I ordered some kind of udon for take-out and I was charged extra for container or something without being told in...advance. Funny thing is the udon was really a joke.More
I used to live in Boulder. I'm visiting for the week with my children. I used to love coming to Sushi Zanmai, which I did almost every other week in the later 1990s. I've just had an experience there that has made me realize I...can't ever go there again. I took my son Simon, who is little, to the toilet. The wait staff cleared all our food away. When I complained to the manager, she tried to make it my fault by saying that I hadn't left something at the table to identify myself. What? My wallet? My $1000 phone? She tried to tell me that I had been treated well by being given two items of food afterwards--that were part of our original order. Wow. I'm so sad. I can't possibly go to Sushi Zanmai again. It just goes to show how kid-unfriendly Boulder can be. I have a whole week left to avoid going to my favorite restaurant. What a shame.More
Very busy Wednesday evening. This place was a little too boisterous for my liking, loud bordering on rude and certainly not what I’m accustomed to. Waiter was attentive and friendly enough. The wait time for my meal was much longer than my companion’s. Perhaps eating...at the bar would have been better than a table? The quality of my sashimi was fair, nothing more. A sushi roll we shared was good, the green tea was just ok. The food and pricing didn’t add up either. I’m very sorry but, It was a disappointing overall dinning experience.More
