Nice authentic crust cooked in a wood-fired oven, crispy exterior with a nice chewy interior. I also loved the wood-fired salad with radicchio and roasted veggies.

I have previously eaten at Basta and this visit did not measure up to the past. The best dish on the menu by far is the half-chicken. The Daisy pizza was not as good this time. A Romaine salad came with browned leaves, which the waiter explained as due to rains in California. Regardless, it should not have come out... More

We had not gone to Basta for a few years, and based on the 5280 restaurant ratings we stopped in last Saturday. Wow, we had a great dinner. The Piada with burrata cheese was amazing, a beautifully warm round shaped bread stuffed with roasted garlic and topped with olive oil and sea salt. It was glorious. The baby lettuce salad... More

My friend and I showed up around 5:30 PM on a Saturday to find Basta's about half full. After being seated at an outdoor window seat that looked in on the bar, we settled in and ordered bread and pizza (who cares about carb overload after a day of skiing?). My friend forgot her ID, and the bar tender whipped... More

Perhaps it was because of all the hype as a "best of" for Denver/Boulder, but I was a bit underwhelmed by Basta. It's a very informal place that specializes in pizza. It's very good pizza and there are other good items on the menu too, but it's a long way from "fine dining," which is what I expected. If you're... More

Basta is located in the Peleton. It has very good food quality and judging from the crowd it’s also very popular, but I thought the service was a bit too precious and the prices were high to make it a good value. We went with friends and tried the Piada with Burrata (very good), Romaine Salad (meh -- average), Pork... More

This restaurant came highly recommended and was simply casual chic, wonderful staff and amazing food! Try anything on the menu! Its all fantastic! We split the clam pizza and lasagna. Next time we will try the whole fish and short ribs for sure. This place is fit for foodies! Make a reservation!

It's amazing what comes out of this wood-fired pizza oven. Beyond making a fine pizza, the chef delivers delicious roasted vegetables, an excellent farro dish, heavenly lasagna, great baked chicken and fantastic short ribs & mashed potatoes. Every bite was divine! How does he do it?? No idea.

Hmm. If you like burned extremely expensive pizza with pretentious waiters, this is the place for you. Honestly I have no idea why this place has such good ratings. The waiter actually said to me, " there are hard words on the menu and I am the only one who knows their definition, if you want to be enlightened come... More

Chef Kelly is clearly passionate about the quality of the food and its sourcing. The bar is stocked with in-house concoctions and an expert staff. I've had many dishes besides the pizza which, to me, are the best in Boulder. The wait staff are clearly knowledgeable and very customer oriented. Truly, I like the dining experience as much as the... More
