This cafe was next to the Miners Inn Best Western. We needed to get an early start so we walked here for breakfast. The food and coffee were fine.

Food is good. Not much on atmosphere. Sweet potato fries with secret sauce are really good. They need to get a beer & wine license !! They also need more servers ... One guy is not enough.

Basic good portioned food served with no frills. Just down home goodness. Not a very extensive menu but enough to order up a nice dinner for two. Not every meal has to be with wine (I can't believe I said that!). The flavours come through in well prepared meals.

We got into Yreka late and were very hungry. The hotel recommended The Purple Plum. They were right. The good was good, the service was great and it was just a short walk from the hotel.

Well, this is a bit interesting. We went to lunch here on Sunday around noon. Yeah, that's a high point in the restaurant business. That said, it took about 40 minutes from seating to delivery of our plates. That's pretty much the bad in a nutshell. I talked to the waitress and she said it was a sort of issue... More

My husband and I ordered 2 burgers. Doesn't matter which ones you order they are all really really good. The onion rings were good and very big. The sweet potato fries were wonderful. Seems there was a hot air balloon show or something and not all the kitchen help showed up. They were doing their best but it was very... More

We shared a burger and a large salad and both were delicious. Everything tasted freshly made and the presentation was nice. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy. They don't serve alcohol so I found the warning at the entrance about the dangers of drinking to pregnant women, etc a little strange, but the food was good.

We got up at 4 am to make the hour long trip from Ashland to Montague to see the Balloon Festival where we took a ton of pics. The air was crispy just like a Fall day is supposed to be! Although they were serving an $8 breakfast at the Balloon Fest we, being old farts that we are, opted... More

We decided to eat at the Purple Plum after reading other reviews. It was within walking distance of our hotel (BW Miner's Inn). We were there early evening on a Sunday. The interior decor is your typical cafe, but very spacious. I had the Applewood bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the blue cheese burger. The restaurant uses Wagyu beef... More
