A choice for special occasions, birthdays and Christmas eve in our case. Mostly local clientele given its location, but we drive 25 minutes to treat our friends.

I ordered bavette steak from the 'pub' menu while my wife ordered duck from the dinner menu. Both entrees were excellent. We chose the pub because it was open late - till 10 pm - on a Tuesday night. We arrived about 9 pm and the place was packed but it cleared out quickly.

The Village Pub is the very best restaurant on the San Francisco peninsula. The food is so delicious, the atmosphere is delightful and of course the service couldn't be better. Love this place. It has it all!

Really enjoyed my lunch at The Village pub. Very sweet woman hostess. I was dinning by myself and she came over a few times to chat with me. Professional service. Enjoyed my pre lunch craft cocktails. tuna tartar wrapped in avocado was great, along with duck and amazing dessert. Loved the ambiance. Would definitely return and it was well worth... More

I ate here recently as part as a work dinner and have to say this is hands down the best meal I've eaten this year! I had a delicious sweet corn soup to start and finished with sweet corn ice cream that was just fabulous but my pork loin main was incredible. It also came with some belly pork which... More

I've been going there for years. Good for a special date or for a business meeting. The food is consistently awesome. Great wine selection. staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The breads there are amazing. Salads, soups, pork loin, burger, and fries are all my favorites. Make your reservations well in advance. 1 Michelin star

My sweetie and I went the eat in the late morning at the Village Pub on July 24, our 53 wedding anniversary. I had made a reservation over a week before on Open Table. The food and service were excellent. I recommend that you go to the Village Pub if you're in the area. We were seated right away at... More

I suppose technically it is since it has a great bar and food is served. But, c'mon, when one thinks of "pub" this place is not what comes immediately to mind. The Village Pub is a fine dining restaurant with a towering wine list and, oh yeah, a wonderful bar. Call it a hippopotamus if you like. Whatever. Expect varied... More

Just finished their Mother's Day dinner. We were, first, surprised that there was only a prix fixe dinner available, for $78/each. Second, the choices were limited and unimaginative. Third, and this is the nub of the matter: the food was close to inedible. The vichyssoise was watery, lukewarm, with no flavor. The scallops had to be sent back twice to... More

My second visit to the pub was as extraordinary as the first. Don't let the 'village' or 'pub' fool you. This is a top notch kitchen with an outstanding ambiance and service. I would call this a hidden gem as most outsiders discount the name on poor assumptions. One of my favorite restaurants on the entire peninsula. Book in advance... More
