Can a "pub" wine list run to close to 100 pages, including a $15,000 burgundy! Seeing beyond this easy irony, the Village Pub is exceptional on every level: superlative service, fine cuisine (very; special marks for the scallops special), and prices! If California is genuinely cherished by the gods, the Village Pub is where they must come to eat,

I really enjoy eating at the Village Pub. The menu is American cuisine with California accent. I think all their steaks like the Filet Mignon, NY Sirloin, and sometime porterhouse is great. They have one of the best wine selections that are great for pairing up with their dishes. Here's a tip, check out their Pub Menu. It's also has... More

My boyfriend's parents took us out for my boyfriend's birthday. The ambiance is amazing. Red Velvet chairs, stylish old fashioned lamps. There is an awesome bar area that I want to come back for - even a separate pub menu The food was excellent. Had Sea Scallops and Foie Gras as an appetizer. Had Duck for the main. Others had... I have been there many times over the years and never had anything short of very good... On the flip side, I rarely had anything extraordinary... so all in all, food is solid, well executed but misses on originality or personality... the wine list is absolutely amazing... Just to give an idea: they have en entire page of gruner veltliner... More

With reservations, we were seated in the back where there is less noise and more room. We were presented with menus and a book of the wines available. The wine list is extraordinary and features wines by the glass, half bottle and full bottle. I ordered the duck which was cooked perfectly and served with small potatoes and vegetables. My... More

This is a place for a special meal - the food really is excellent. But if you like wine with your meal, you better either not care about cost of have someone else paying. First, the food. Our soup was French onion, but unlike any I have had before. The bowl is brought to the table with some puree and... More

I love this place for a high-end experience; I am probably there more for lunch than for dinner, and I am coming down from SF to meet with people. Today, I took a best friend to lunch for his BD celebration, adding another best friend. We had a great time and a great experience. BF2 brought an amazing bottle of... More

I have been going here for years on a semi quarterly basis. The food is consistently very good, the wines can be spectacular, and some dishes are just superb. So that is my one complaint -- the sweetbreads were a perennial favorite, now gone for the past two visits from the menu. My companion and I did not care for... More

We had a fabulous lunch here last month with amazing food and service. Food was very fresh and quality which believe me is hard to come by in restaurants. Atmosphere was busy but calm at the same time. We enjoyed our salads, cured meats plate and entrees. Bread and butter provided delicious as well. Dessert was an A+. We went... More

Village pub has been around for over 2 decades and the name is a bit misleading. Although they have a short pub menu with Hamburgers and Fries this is a very upscale Restaraunt with a great wine list and a menu that changes daily on what is available. We started off with a vegetable strudel and a duck confit strudel.... More
