Seafood salad sandwich was pretty skimpy on the salad. Waitress was very nice. She checked several times. Beef barley soup was delicious.

The restaurant is in an older building in a historic area of Woodland and we had high hopes for meal befitting the surroundings. The menu is uninteresting with a couple of steak options, braised short ribs, pork tenderloin, salmon etc. which as my husband noted,...seemed as if they were straight off the Sysco truck. We opted for the burgers which were described as Waygu. Sadly they were dry and tasteless which makes me doubt that they were Waygu. The wine list was equally uninspiring with wines by the glass listed as “house” under each of the varietals - no winery name, just ‘house’. We opted for a bottle of Tempranillo which was from California, listed under ‘other’. It was dull and didn’t taste anything like a Tempranillo. The bright spot of the evening was our server, Joel. He was friendly in a good way, highly competent and efficient. In summary, food 2/5; wine 2/5; service 5/5. Apparently this is the best restaurant in Woodland…. I think we would have had a better burger at In and Out.More

One of my favorite restaurants in Woodland!! Sometimes I’m in the mood for a salad, a burger, prime rib or cioppino and I’m always a happy camper no matter what I order! Harry Potter Halloween was also a huge hit with the whole family.

Lovely restaurant with great service and good food. My husband and I rarely go out to eat because since we are often disappointed. We were very happy with this place. The food was delicious. I had the Rosemary chicken, it was tender and flavorful. My...husband had the short ribs which were equally good. We finished the meal with the pumpkin cheese cake, yummy. Nice variety on the beer menu.More

Good food and good service. We did not have reservations and we were seated immediately, but don't count on such good luck. This restaurant is kid friendly (it was Harry Potter night) without being oriented toward children. It is definitely an adult restaurant. People who...allow their kids to run around screaming in restaurants should go elsewhere, but well behaved children seemed very welcome. This place seems very popular with the locals. They do have outdoor dining in a cozy back patio.More

My wife and I had dinner there on Tuesday and the place was pretty empty, we sat in the bar area and everything was good, service was good and food was good; we decided to come back again tonight and we ran into a surprise,...the place was still pretty empty but many tables were “reserved” so we sat in the bar area again the musty smell was more accentuated but that’s fine it gives the place some “character”, service was fair and somewhat friendly, or server greeted us “hello, what can I do for you tonight” whatever that meant, we had to ask for water and my salad came to me dry ( no dressing) then I waited forever to get some dressing on the side then our entrees came and our table wasn’t even cleared of our salad plates; I could go on but I better not. Place is ok but needs consistency.More

428 offered curb side service Christmas dinner and we jumped at the chance to have another great meal from one of our favorite Woodland restaurants. Prime rib dinner for four, sides included mashed potatoes, Brussels Sprouts with bacon and baby carrots. Four slices of decadent...cheese cake to finish. Oh, a container of au jus and extra creamy horseradish. A feast! Dinner for four, tip and tax ran $192. Certainly worth every penny. Cannot recommend too highly. Help keep this treasure in business. If six stars were available, that would be my rating.More

The building was ever so classic and the food was excellent at a reasonable price. But what really made it special was the very good service!

Nice well lit restaurant, set in an older building where artifacts from it's past adorn the walls and make conversation points. Good menu and drinks list. Helpful serving staff are pleasant and efficient. We were not over hungry but managed 2 starters, 4 mains (...one was a very good spinach salad) drinks and 3 coffees , total $170 exc tips.More

What a delightful place! We came here for lunch – the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, and the food was wonderful. Lots of great choices. We had the swordfish tacos and cheeseburger. Both came with a side choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or salad....We are glad we stumbled on this great find!More

First, our server Jillian so clearly loves her job, loves the restaurant, and her enthusiasm set the table for us. This restaurant is housed in a century-old brick edifice with turn of the century decorations. Extensive wine list of by the glass or by the...bottle. Nice Monterey county Merlot was $35. We four all had the ribeye, medium with farm to fork veggies. Very nice grill marks, just right pink. We told Jillian we were celebrating an anniversary and the foursome at the next table must have heard. They comped our desserts! When was the last time that happened to you? Four entrees, a bottle of wine and tip ran to $211.More

That good friend should take you to brunch there. You'd both enjoy it, and then they would be a friend with a benefit.
