The staff at Black Bear do not care that you are there. Whether it's sitting at the bar or a booth their competency in ignoring you is just unparalleled. I once waited two hours to be served. Never again.

My wife & I were tooling down I-5 and wanted to find a good place to eat. Being from "back East" we were not familiar with the Black Bear Diner chain of eateries "out West." We cautiously thought we would "give it a try." Good golly, were we soooo happy we did just that. First, the dozens of bears decorating... More
On the way back from Sacramento, we stopped for lunch. Service was okay, thankfully the food was good with good portions to match the prices. While not inexpensive, the prices reflect present pricing in the area. The speed of food delivery was average at best. Overall a good experience.
We stopped for lunch on June 13, experienced very slow service, which is uncommon for other Black Bear diners. Food was standard BBD food. Just an average experience when compared against other Black Bear Diners
My fiancé had the Volcano Breakfast (pancakes, sausage, bacon and eggs). I had the Classic 2-Egg Combo (w/potatoes and bacon). We both loved our meals (and each others). Our server, Kameron, was pretty good as well. Would return here in a heartbeat!

We have eaten at the Black Bear Diner before and were expecting a good meal experience. We ordered take out. There was a long wait for the food with the result that one meal was cool and soggy. The other dish was a Cobb salad and it was generous, but curiously included olives. We'll give the restaurant another try.
