While the place was a bit busy when I went, the overall atmosphere was nice - the food, excellent - and enjoying some decent Saki helped carry a California 'day-glow' into the evening - definitely worth a visit for a well rounded enjoyable time.

Great place and price wise acceptable but you need to take the special chef rolls as the normal ones are too expensive and ordinary for the price.

I have been to this place twice now; I enjoyed the second visit even more than the first, in part because we were a group of 6 and sat outside in a semi covered patio area. The sushi was fresh and innovative in design. It reminded me of Nobu, but was less pretentious than some Nobu's can be. It had... More

Great spot in LA to have fresh sushi made with real fish! The restaurant gets very intimate at night so would recommend for dates or small groups. Also, prices are high but soooo worth it! Everything is so tasty and fresh. I recommend making a reservation to make sure you get a spot and have no waiting time.

We love Koi in New York, and LA is equally as terrific. One big delight on the menu is the salmon carpaccio. But don't miss the braised short rib! Crazy choice with so much great fish? Think again! It is delicious and a must-try!

The food is amazing in this japonese restaurant. We ordered completely randomly and everything that came was marvelous. The waiters are all nice and very helpful. Totally worth the high prices.

I've visited Koi twice and have had a great experience both times. It has great food and service, and I've had better meals at Koi than its cross-street competitor, Nobu. The sushi rolls are consistently good as is their sashimi. There's a tremendous amount of variety on their menu, but the waiters are very helpful with the selections. I also... More

Over rated Japanese restaurant with good quality overpriced dishes with fancy names that have nothing fancy about them. Service is good, decor is modern but the food is good not excellent.

This is a hot-spot in West Hollywood where celebrities even go. The sushi and lobster tacos were amazing. It was very-LA if you're looking for that scene.

Koi Los Angeles is a sophisticated blend of feng shui and modern elegance. Illuminated by candlelight, the natural and intricate details of the restaurant create an elegant dining atmosphere, while the Zen inspired design of earth-toned colors, sleek design, fireplaces and waterscapes all create a stunning atmosphere of harmony by combining subtly luxurious materials with nature’s elements of water, air, fire and light.
At Koi, chefs deconstruct traditional Japanese preparations and respectfully re-imagine them, by infusing modern California accents. Sushi chefs and the kitchen staff derive their inspiration from each other resulting in creations like the signature Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna); the Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crabmeat is wrapped in a thin rice crepe paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection.
