Service: Although the night started promising with a warm welcome at the door and an assurance that we would be seated at our table shortly, things very quickly turned sour. We were totally ignored for the next 25 minutes even though we had a booked table for 8:30 and it was now coming up to to 9:00. When we did... More

I went to Lucques to celebrate my coworker's 30th birthday. The ambience was really nice, the customer service was excellent and my meal was good- not spectacular. I would definitely go to Lucques again and try ordering something different.

Went here for a family birthday celebration and it exceeded its reputation Our kids were familiar with Suzanne Goin's other restaurants and recommended we dine here. It's a French delight in every way. James Beard seal of approval. Mine too.

Great ambience at Lucques. Nice area on Melrose. Quick trip if you're staying in Beverly Hills or the Wilshire Corridor. Try to get seated at covered patio. Fresh bread and butter brought to table. I know so what .....but they have their own bakery so very fresh.Hanger steak by far the best I've ever had. Friend had Vegetarian lasagna with... More

Talk about overpriced and underwhelming. I know this is one of the "in" places in LA and gets great reviews, but we were more than a bit disappointed. The Alaskan black cod was paper thin and had quite a fishy taste. The chicken was a bit mushy. The salad was nice, but as with everything else, incredibly overpriced. Corkage was... More

Had a large group (15) and needed a good spot with great food and wine. This place did not disappoint. Service was impeccable, food was divine, and a great time was had by all. My colleagues were impressed.

I had the fish of the day, which was salmon. It was slightly undercooked, but tasty, and the sweet potato accompaniment was quite delicious. My wife enjoyed her salad with chicken, and the desert we shared was excellent. We had one glass of wine between the two of us and cappuccinos to finish. If you're looking for a lunch for... More

It is quite difficult to explain why Lucques is so special, so please bear with me. We have eaten in thousands of restaurants worldwide, but could not think of a single restaurant that reminded us of Lucques. First of all, we went on a Sunday evening, which is Sunday Supper evening, with athree course table d'hôte menu, and your only... More

Honestly I've been here 3-4 times, each time I have something different from the menu, and love it. It's one of the only places in LA at which I will get to dessert having cleaned up both my starter and main dish, be full, but force myself (Happily) to have dessert because I feel like I'd be disrespecting the chef... We ate in the rear of the restaurant (billed as the deck, but really inside) and it was romantic and quiet. The service was maybe a little too quick but the food was delicious and fresh. I had a vegetarian tureen that was wonderful and my husband enjoyed his fish dish. The only drawback was finding the place at night.... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
