I've been to Nobu in 3 different countries. The food at Nobu is always at a remarkable standard, and Hollywood is no exception. However I was really disappointed in the restaurant standard, compared to the other Nobu restaurants this was in my taste a bit too regular. We felt a bit overdressed and the vibe of the restaurant was not... More

Loved the dinner here, and knew what to expect from going to so many other Nobus (NYC, London, Bahamas, etc). But by far my favourite Nobu location is Nobu Malibu! And being in LA it is tempting to want to go all the way out there just for that restaurant, bu we decided to stay local and go to the... More

We had the LA Omakasi and we're very disappointed with the quality and creativity of the food! Having dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world, our experience felt like fast food. We were pushed the whole dinner! I would not recommend Nobu as a high end dining option.

We have eaten at Nobu in Vegas & Hong Kong so have our favourite dishes. The miso cod & rock shrimp tempura are a stand out and these dishes didn't disappoint. We also tried the lobster ceviche & yellow tail as cold started and both were outstanding. Would recommend this restaurant if in this part of LA.

We had booked 3 months in advance for our trip to Nobu. When we sat down the waiter offered to take over our ordering for us. One of us was vegan which was no issue at all. He went forward and ordered on our behalf and every dish was AMAZING. The food was so fresh and tasty. The restaurant lived... More

We told everyone how much we love the food at Nobu and each time we were stopped and asked if it was the Malibu location. We told them "No, West Hollywood." They would be so disappointed and say something like "oh....". It's crazy the West Hollywood location was quaint and the service was great, as usual. The prices were just... More

Where to start. Utterly over rated. Never been bumped into by so many wait staff before. They also clutter up the restaurant and don't get out of your way. Weak cocktails. Food is mediocre. Anything other than sushi required zero culinary effort. Just nothing special at all. Verging on a con. Can they all be this bad? They could learn... More

We were in the Los Angeles area recently for a family vacation & to celebrate my brother's birthday. This restaurant was amazing! Our main server was named Sam. We had an extremely large party & she was attentive & polished! We ordered several dishes so everyone could try anything they wanted! My personal favorite dishes include the lamb, and the... More

Nobu has become a favorite. This was our first time to the West Hollywood location. Maybe we were a bit early, but the restaurant seemed only 1/3 to half full and lacked energy - even by 8 p.m. The food, though, as always, was quite good. We have developed a few favorites on the menu - yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno;... More

When it comes to Chinese/Japanese I think most of us are fond of the one down the corner shop.. Until I went Nobu, I didn't rate any oriental fancy restaurant I've ever been, by this I mean i wouldn't rush back. I've been to Gilgamesh, Roka and hakasan (London). This could possibly be the fact I'm so drawn to the... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
