One of the first few restaurants we went for dinner after moving to Walnut Creek. Waited quite a bit, but sitting at the bar, and watching the chefs dishing out non stop gives another perspective into how busy and how much attention is given to the food being prep. The pasta was really good, though I must say the pizza... More

I visited the restaurant with a colleague of mine and we had some terrific wine and a perfect pizza.. the pizza was called Diablo and it had a nice kick to it. Milo, the bartender was terrified with his recommendations for wines.

We came to celebrate my birthday - for me I wanted to try the brunch menu and for the rest they had their pastas from the lunch menu. We have decided that il fornaio is good for brunch and lunches while sitting outside. The menu was easy- I recommend the French toast if you live for breakfast food, our wait... More

All of my past reviews have raved about the Happy Hour. I will stop because the last time it was so full that you couldn't find a seat at the bar or at one of the bar-area-tables !!! Our food in the Dining Room was also great especially the Lamb Shank. It was so large that I took half of... More

Love the food, service, decor and atmosphere!! Consistent quality. My favorite dish is the butternut squash ravioli with sage. Excellent wine selection. So convenient to great shopping as well!

Warm summers evening p, no outdoor seating but sited near open doors so very pleasant outlook with fountain outside. Wine/vinegar preceded bread by some time....then long wait until food arrived (veal for both) ..which was tasty but small portion for husband. Wines very good and reasonably priced. Dessert again took some time but good. Not wishing further delay we opted... More

Il Fornaio is a reliable choice for small groups because the menu has a wide enough range of choices to please everyone. Was there for a relative's birthday lunch and there was something for everyone from the teens to the octogenarians. Service was very efficient. The bread is always so good! The only thing I could complain about is not... More

The ambiance at this setting makes it a great place for a quick break from shopping, and special lunch with the girls, a business lunch, as well as a great place for special dinners - families, couples, outdoor seating or romantic corner. The menu has a wide variety of selections, pasta, meats, fish or regional Italian specialties. Convenient valet parking... More

I was there for dinner for a business appointment with someone familiar with the restaurant. It was a good place for conversation. I asked the server what the two most popular dishes, and I ordered the butternut squash ravioli, and was in heaven. Delicate pasta (I don't usually think of pasta this way), great flavor of filling and just enough... More

Service was very pleasant and efficient. But as I was paying my $200 bill (2 adults, 2 kids), I reflected to myself "never again." The menu nicely accommodates kids with the standard chicken tenders and french fries. The chicken tenders were that familiar mass-produced flat patty that, rumor has it, was once a chicken. Really, not fresh chicken? The fries... More
