I thought I'd give this place a try. I came in yesterday a little after 6PM. It wasn't busy at all. Only 2 tables were actually occupied. After I was seated, I waited for one of the servers to take my order but no one...seemed interested to take it, or at least tell me "I'll be right with you". Both waitresses walked back and forth in front of my table but never cared to ask if I'm ready to order. These 2 waitresses never made eye contact and totally ignored me.I was very disappointed with this behavior that I decided to leave. I will not recommend this place. If there is a lower rating than this, I will rate them that way. They should be trained how to provide good customer service.More

Delicious Japanese restaurant by Newell.Staff were very accommodating. Ordered spicy salmon roll, tempura roll and dynamite roll. Their mussels are also good worth the 30 minutes wait.

The saving grace of this place is that it is located near a major place of business and some businesses frequently regularly by local people. I love Japanese inspired restaurants, Oishi Sushi is totally uninspiring. The place itself is tired, the food is nowhere near...where it could be. I ordered a Bento Box, the Gyozas were deep fried, oil soaked, over cooked and totally inedible. The Tempura as artistically arranged but soaking in old oil. The beef teriyaki was an ample serving but weird little overcooked squares that looked like what I serve my dog. Actually dog eats better than that. On the positive side, the service was attentive and friendly. Despite that, I will not return.More

We had a group of 10 on a Saturday night. The food was good and the staff was very accommodating with separate checks. There were a couple of non-sushi eaters and they happily found items such as chicken and beef teriyaki. I am a fan...of the Bento box, large portion, variety of items, and at a reasonable price.More

Went for a late lunch around 1:30 pm. The place was not very busy but it took quite a while before someone offered us anything to drink. Menus were brought to us as we sat down though. My grandson and I sat at the sushi...bar because I like to converse with the sushi guy. Unfortunately, after we sat I found out that we had to do all the ordering with the server. That was kinda a bummer. Maybe at night, this is different. The food was good and the price reasonable. The place appeared clean. Parking was available but it is metered parking so you have to pay.More

It's in downtown Walnut Creek which is an expensive area to dine around. BUT, sometimes you have that little hidden gem that gives great attentive service to a nice and tasty meal and Oishi Sushi & Grill is that secret sushi place. It's actually across...from Kaiser Permanente hospital which you would think to have their prices elevated but it's the contrary. Try this place out when you are in the area and you'll leave it feeling full and happy.More

We went for lunch here, there were 6 adults, and 2 children, and this place was very accomodating for our party. The food was delivered promptly and was very good.

This is our favorite Japanese restaurant, its close by and we have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Recently it changed ownership so its not quite the same. Now all the waiters are guys, before they were all women!

I took my mother here on Mother's Day and had an amazing meal. We got the dinner special for two which included a great assortment of sushi and included saki, miso soup, salad and dessert. We had amazing service and that was with a full...house (all tables were filled but one). Everyone there seemed to be happy, customers and servers alike. My mother goes here constantly, and I see why (I had never been there before). Prices were great. If I lived in town, I would make this a regular stop.More

Who ever heard of a sushi place running out of yellowtail? The food was mediocre at best. They ran out of yellowtail and put in some creamy stuff in the rolls. I couldn't even finish it and that's never happened. My family agreed that it...was one of the poorer sushi restaurant expereiences we have had and we have eaten sushi all over the U.S. Find someplace else.More
