The red phone booth outside the restaurant continues to amaze me, this despite the countless number of times I have eaten here - adds a nice and unique touch to the place. I find this place "hip" not only because of the overall ambience but because of the food offerings as well. The menu is far from the "ordinary" -... More

We went here for Mother's Day. I don't just give away 5 star reviews, this place really deserves it! Wonderful start to a great day. Our server, Jarod, was the epitome of personalized service! Every dish, from the appetizers to the dessert was excellent.

The food is wonderful, of course anything made by the Vartanians always is great. Have been here three or four times only and the service is not good. Always have to wait for anyone to ask for drink orders.

First time here at Jack and Charlie's. Food was good service was great. It is in the old jail down town Visalia. Thought it was a little dark and I'm Claustrophobic so I wasn't sure how I would do it was not bad.

On our way to SoCal and decided to split up the drive by making an overnight stop in Visalia. Our good friends do this stop often and suggested we try Jack and Charlie’s – word was good food and a good wine cellar so we decided to give it a go. We visited on a Thursday evening and started looking... More

I went here with a group of colleagues visiting Visalia on business and we were looking for a restaurant for a celebratory dinner. I was very impressed by the food although the service was a bit slow, despite a pretty empty restaurant on a Tuesday night. This restaurant works well for a large group as there are plenty of small... More

Had dinner with a couple of friends. Staff was humorless and stiff and ambience was arctic. Food was uninspired and boring and as a vegetarian I felt I was transported back to an era where vegetarians were outcast. Had to settle for an Iceberg salad as the dinner menu has NO meatless dishes whatsoever! My carnivore friends were not pleased... More

This was the second time my husband and I ate at Jack and Charlie's. It is so fun getting the three or four course tasting menu as you can choose from numerous choices on different categories, small plates, artisan cheeses, salad, dinner or dessert. The menu varies each day. We loved the choices on the small plates and loved the... More

Looking for a nice meal on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We hear of this place and decide it looks worthwhile. Short walk from the hotel, and the website stresses fine dining. It's in the basement of the old jail with a neon lit phone booth out front, Points for cool. Bar was busy. Restaurant seating was mostly empty. Looking over... More
