We were hoping to find a restaurant that served excellent American food with great service. Black Oak is the place. Fluffy, not too sweet, cooked just right pancakes. Home fried potatoes were cooked on the grill and not deep fried, they also had a hint of thinly sliced celery which added a very pleasant note. Great decor, with a 60's... More

Authentic southern food. Be prepared for a bit of a wait; this is a popular restaurant. Just breakfast and lunch; no dinner.

Busy on a sunny Sunday morning but well worth the 25 minute wait for a table. Told the waitress we were from away, first visit, could she offer suggestions? Her exact and only response was "everything here is sellable." OK, not very helpful. Minus 1 star for that. Otherwise we were very happy and satisfied with our breakfast. Nice portions,... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant almost every weekend for years for breakfast. One weekend we finished our breakfast and move over to a friends table while they finished. we talked for about 20 more minutes when a waitress came up to the table and said the Manager asked her to ask us if we were ready to... This is where we go for Sunday breakfast on a regular basis. Many locals go here like we do. The food is tasty and you definitely get more than you could finish! I highly recommend this place!

The Black Oak has been here for a long time, I feel that you don't stay in that kind of business with out serving very good food and they do. I eat here once or twice a month.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch because he and his mother used to eat there weekly when it was called the Coffee Tree. The food/menu was similar and the food was still great. No wonder they've been in business so long. We had a Monte Cristo sandwich that we split between us, and it was still too much... More

I had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated but it was worth the wait. I chose from the breakfast menu the fried boneless pork chops with country gravy, two fried eggs over hard, hash browns, and homemade biscuits. I was ashamed afterwards but I ate the whole thing! It was delicious to the third degree. This place... More
