I used to love this place, but now their new system is sol horrible that my order gets messed up 70% of the time. You can't place it online like before and when you call, you also get your order wrong. Yet again I ordered...no cheese, yup, got cheese on the pizza. In the trash!More
We love Z Pizza because our son has celiac disease and even though many restaurants serve "gluten free" food, they are not necessarily safe from cross-contamination. A mixed blessing this trend is :) Anyway, this restaurant is certified by the celiac community and trained on...food preparation. Downside is it is very overpriced, but we do what we have to. It is thin crust pizza (even the regular) so if you don't like thin crust, it may not be your thing.More
This was our first time at Z Pizza because we had a 2 for 1 entertainment coupon. We had pesto pasta and chicken caesar salad, and it was very good. The price was about $19 including one free pasta dinner, so that seemed a little...high (it would have been about $28), but the food was good, restaurant clean, service okay.More
The crust here is unique. I love it but you might find it different. Not quite NYC thin crust, not quite Neapolitan, almost flatbread like. It is thin and crispy on the bottom. They do some unique pies here but you can get your standard...pepperoni or cheese pizza as well.More
OK my review is based on the customer service I received at this place. I walked out of the store with NO pizza so I cannot comment on the quality of the pizza.
I ordered 1 large and 1 small pizza for takeout then walked...over to Trader Joe's for some groceries, I come back wait for 10 mins and the same guy that helped me ( the manager Jener) brings out 2 small pizzas. I pointed out the mistake, that I was supposed to have 1 large and 1 small and he insists that I ordered 2 small pizzas. I pointed out Jener's clear lack of logic in this situation that I would not have been surprised and pointed out that something was wrong with my order, if i would have indeed ordered 2 small pizzas.
At this point I look at my receipt and it doesn't clearly state small and large just "10 build your own," now I will take responsibility for me not checking my receipt, I just paid with the credit card and figured he got it right since I ordered two different types of pizza, one after another. I state this little fact to Jener who responds with "I know what I heard and you said 'two small pizzas'" Now this guy is blatantly calling me a liar, but I just want my damn pizza and leave this place. I ask him to charge me the difference and just make me a large pizza and he wont. He said I have to pay FULL price for a large pizza because I never ordered a large, then I'm trying to reason with this guy by going over the conversation we had about the pizza and how I said I would just need the small pizza for my brother but a large for mom and I so we can take left overs to work. Still this IDIOT (for the lack of a better word) will NOT help me. So I ask for my money back and walked out with NO pizza and NEVER wanting to come back.
Logically, this doesn't make sense, the guy could have retained the original sale and gotten the right price for a large pizza, yes they would have had to throw away (or shove their faces with the wrong small pizza) but they would have made $25 bucks + from this deal, instead they end up refunding me $21 and keeping two small pizzas and losing a customer for life. Perhaps its just me, but I would rather make my own organic pizza than subject myself to be called a liar and deal with a manager who clearly can't take responsibility for their mistakes.More
I've NEVER written any kind of review for anything before but felt that I had to in this case. I had received an OC Register coupon for Z Pizza a while ago and decided to use it last night and try Z Pizza for the...first time. My daughter and I ordered an EXTRA LARGE with FOUR toppings on her half and TWO toppings on my half. We are not extremely big eaters (I weigh 150 pounds). I expected to make two meals out of this $26 pizza. What a disappointment! The two of us finished all of it and were not "stuffed." It came with a very thin crust, very little cheese and toppings that were no different than everyone else. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Get an $11 pizza from Costco that will last for TWO meals or even the $5 pizzas from the chains. Just a MUCH better value !! Sorry "Z."More
We usually get pizza from Papa Johns or Tustin pizza co. But oh my gosh! Z pizza is amazing!!! The ingredients are so fresh and seriously the best pizza I have ever had! The ZBQ is to die for! The price may be a bit...more than other places....but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!More
