Surprisingly good!

Visiting CSU Stanislaus and popped into TA to see where we should eat. We walked in on a Sunday at noon and it was empty. We almost turned around and walked out but we were greeted and offered a table so we sat down. Glad we did. Don't let the underwhelming exterior fool you. The place is cute inside and seems clean. Each member of my family was pleased with their food (not easy to do) and the bread was really fresh and warm. The staff was nice and friendly. My husband's pasta carbonara was the standout dish so I'd probably order that next time.

Best Italian food since our trip to Italy

We had the chicken piccata and chicken Marsala. They were wonderful!! The chicken was very tender and all of the veggies very fresh! The tiramisu and cheese cake were also great. Excellent food, great service and excellent value. The server was very responsive and quick to notice when we needed something. This was a business trip and I only wish I live closer so I could visit more often.

Superb Italian Dining in Turlock

On a whim my wife and I got in the car and headed into Turlock for dinner on Sunday night. She drove and I picked Villa Napoli from a Google search. What a pleasant surprise. The staff was relaxed and professional. They made us feel welcome the second we stepped in the door. I ordered a beer and my wife found a glass of Merlot that she liked. Our waiter made us a large Caesar Salad that was delicious. We ordered pasta dishes and they were elegant and delectable. The good people of Turlock are lucky to have such a competent little restaurant. Next time I need someone else to cook my dinner, I’m heading straight to Villa Napoli. A gem.

Best italian food I’ve tried in a long time! Starting with a fresh out of the oven bread we weren’t expecting. The gnocchi, the fusilli with sausage and mushrooms and the Tiramisu where great. We will definitely come again!

Some of the best Italian dinners come from little restaurants--don't let the outside fool you!

Four of us enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Villa Napoli. One had an eggplant vegetarian dinner and raved about it for several days--"never had a vegetarian dinner with eggplant taste so good. I had the chicken marsala--one of the best with plenty of mushrooms, garlic and marsala. Still thinking about that wonderful taste days later. The others had several pasta dishes and both were impressed. The service by Charlie was attentive and informative. We really felt special and we left saying we'll be back again! (for questions later, California ended restrictions on 6/15/21 and we were there the last Friday of June)

It's small and cozy but the flavors are SO Huge!! A SO must try and keep going. Totally a gem 🥰 Appetizer, Cocktails and Dinner was all fabulous.

Wow! Great hole in the wall!!! My friend and I wanted to try something local while we were working here, and were craving some Italian food and stumbled upon this please! I would definitely recommend, the service is great and they know what to suggest, and they’re always bringing it out fresh bread, which I loved!

Not what it used to be

Food is not as authentic as it was once like three years ago. They west from fresh baked bread to rolls from costco or some other market. Minestrone lacks the flavor. The cooks needs to be re train

Best Restaurant in Turlock

We have been coming to Villa Napoli for years. Every time we arrive, we are warmly greeted by Sonny, the owner, or one of his friendly staff. They know I like Ice Tea and my wife likes Louis Martini wine and bring it out without us having to ask for it. The food is consistently great tasting, plenty of warm bread, and delicious soup with our meal. The biggest problem I have is trying to figure out what great item I want to eat. You can't beat the ambience, or the friendly staff at Villa Napoli. I highly recommend this restaurant.

What happened!

What happened to this restaurant? I’ve been here many times and it was great. Went there July 9th and it was horrible. To start the male server we had had 0 personality I mean none! Second server, female only there a week was great. Soup had little to no taste. Very bland. The bread they brought were small dinner rolls I could have gotten at Ralph’s. Ordered ceasar salad and they had no Romain. My main dish was veal scallopini that was over powered with mushrooms as the veal had 0 flavor and over cooked. My wife had the gnocchi with pesto sauce. So much sauces you couldn’t find the gnocchi! Horrible. I don’t know what has happened here as it used to be my go to restaurant

Went here with family while visiting in Turlock. This is a small local restaurant with an attractive decor. The staff was friendly and took our order in a timely manner. Soup came with the meal and wasn't very good. The marinara sauce was bland but the meatballs were good. Very strange for an Italian restaurant to use dinner rolls instead of a nice French bread. Two of the four meals were considered to be very good and two not so good. The two that weren't good had red sauce. Prices were very high for what you got. Probably won't be back.

Watered down soup!

When the waiter brought out the store-bought rolls we thought there might be a problem. Then when the watered down soup arrived it really went downhill from there. The waiter said the soup was minestrone but it only had a few pieces of celery and a few bits of carrot. It was very bland and tasteless. The lasagna was precooked pasta with a meat sauce poured on top. (It was not baked like every other lasagna I've ever had!) The carbonara dish tasted like sulphur. Both dishes were terrible! We were served unfiltered tap water which was awful! DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!

French bread, or Hawaiian Roll at an Italian restaurant

You think you would get sourdough french bread at an Italian restaurant. They brought us what looked and tasted like Hawaiian rolls. Bit pricey and I was charged more than the price listed on the menu. Had to bring it to the waitresses attention.

I've been wanting to try this place and finally did. The menu was ok and the food was ok and the service was ok. Nothing outstanding but overall good. I think being that there are other nice Italian restaurants to choose from I may not need to return.
