For a Mexican restaurant, this place has almost no atmosphere. Although the bar area seemed nice, the dining room walls are a white/gray color and had no decorations, art or character at all. The lighting is also unappealing, almost like dim florescent lights. The wall color and lighting gave off a public restroom feel. The food was better than the... More

A very basic place for good mexican food with friends. There isn't much ambience but the food is good.

When I want Mexican food in Truckee, I usually head to Taco's Jalisco. Although I was "familiar" with Casa Baeza, I had not personally dined there. Well after five years of living in Truckee, I am sorry I waited so long. While I would not classify the cuisine as stellar, rather every day mexican so to speak, the overall experience... More

Casa Baeza is a great Mexican restaurant. It has simple décor with loud acoustics! Fantastic margaritas, nice bar, friendly service.

My husband and I were in town so decided to try a place off the beaten path. It is a local place. The servers are friendly and efficient. The chips and salsa await each table. We did order the guacamole which was good. The combination dinners are hearty and good. I had chicken and fish taco combo plate which comes... More

This is the Mexican comfort food of my youth, so hard to find in the Bay Area, which has become way too cool for old fashioned food like this. Everything well done, not fancy, but good and fresh. Generous margaritas. Family-friendly. Inexpensive.

After looking at several menus in Truckee, we found the Casa Baeza! We were given a very warm welcome by the owner and waiters and our food and margarita orders taken quickly! My Chiles Rellenos and tacos (and margarita) were delicious and I would love to come back and try more from their menu:)

I am use to visiting good Mexican restaurants so when I found none of the other restaurants in town met our needs and wants (no gluten) the small Mexican restaurant looked promising. Initial appearance seemed ok but went down hill from there. Instead of fresh tortilla chips we got some sitting on another table and which appeared to have been... More

Fun place to go, they are very welcoming and it's a good place for families. They make the best margaritas in town!

This informal and often crowded restaurant in downtown Truckee is always enjoyable, not only for its home-cooked food (there's a large selection of favorites), reasonable prices, generous portions and authentic tasting red sauce, in addition to the others, but the margaritas by the pitcher and other alcoholic beverages are quite good. Often crowded, but worth the wait. Friendly service, also.
