Always enjoy going to Pacific Crest...now all called Bar of America. Service is good; food is good; coffee is too expensive

I have eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks and each time I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully prepared.

They have sold out to the new owner of Bar of America and have taken that name for the whole shebang...bar and restaurant. Service is okay but the price of a glass of wine is outrageous. $14 for glass of house Merlot....???? Really! The food just does not warrant the price at this place.

Pacific Crest is a long-time Truckee restaurant. It's not pretentious. There isn't an abundance of gold and crystal to blind you. It's just a good menu done well. Prices are affordable so lots of Truckee regulars eat here all the time. Its bar is the world-class Bar of America, so take advantage!

Really like the old gold rush bar vibe and the food was surprisingly good. I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and it hit the spot. Better food that most of the casual restaurants downtown.

We hadn't tried this place before, and thought each dish was very good. The portions were very generous, the ambience and type of American food felt 'home spun' in a very nice way. My only complaint was the noise level. The combo of bad acoustics and hwavy drinkers gave us all a headache when we left, but I would go... More

Closed and now known as Bar of America. Good food with indoor and outdoor seating during summer months. Very convenient location on the corner of Bridge Street and Commercial Row aka Donner Pass Road.

Worst restaurant service experienced in some time! Waitress was inattentive at best. Took forever to take order (wasnt busy), asked for second plate for a shared salad-forgot that. Water glass not refilled, food was ok ( chicken conchigle was good, ribeye was gristly) waitress left someone else's water glass on our table when she cleared dinner dishes!! Witnessed other patrons... More

This used to be our favorite restaurant in Truckee but it was recently bought and the name is now changed to Bar of America. We had perfect service but were not all that excited about the new menu. Most every dish had pancetta in it or cream - not great for people who don't eat red meat or are trying... More
