Looking for sea views and seafood

Drove up on a rainy Sunday when visiting my son recently. The Lighthouse was closed so we stopped in the Eatery when we saw their sign for clam chowder. I love their California Benedict. I crave it on a regular basis. Every time I have family visit me, I take them to the Eatery!

We climbed Trinidad Head and walked the beach, a great spot for lunch, the food at the Eatery was surprisingly good. We ate fish and chips, a light delicate herbed batter made it great, the fries were tasty, on the thin cut side with skins still on- we were a bit nonplussed to be charged for ranch dressing for the... After hiking the beach, eat at a local haunt. Friendly staff, good food, great quiet location off of 101. There were 4 of us and we all had the fish and chips. Just made my self hungry!

My sister & I had already had dinner but came here at the recommendation of our B&B host for dessert & a glass of wine. Wish we had dined here - loved how knowledgeable & accommodating they were with regard to their impressive wine list, and Amber was a wonderful server. Cobbler & fudge (to go) highly recommended.

I had a large bowl of clam chowder and my husband had the fish and chips. The chowder was creamy and had good flavor, but there were way too many large chunks of potatoes. I would guess that there was a good 2 cups of potatoes in my bowl. Not a lot of clams, but okay. The fish on the... More

I and various members of my family have eaten here many times over the years for lunch and dinner, and have always been satisfied with the food. It is a bit pricey, but it's fresh and of good quality. I especially enjoyed the fish and chips. I will say that on our last visit, the iced tea was strong enough... More

We always visit the Eatery on our visits to Trinidad. This time, it was a big disappointment. Wait staff was inexperienced (carried water glasses under his arm!!). The food was not attractive, high on carbs and not cheap. I ordered a chocolate milk shake that was only milk. Again, not cheap and disappointing. The clam chowder bread bowls had soup... More

Greetings, Ginna B... Your review caught us off guard a bit; especially regarding our clam chowder and food not being attractive.
