Top 3 restaurants in Humboldt County. Worth every penny. Owner (Paul?) runs a tight ship. Staff highly professional, our waiter was top notch. No need to make a menu recommendation, you cannot go wrong. Excellent about dietary restrictions. Really, TRY IT if you can afford it and are looking for an EXCEPTIONAL fine dining experience.

Food is better than service, the first plate of brisket is rough, eve though the second plate of brisket is better but still little tough, the restaurant has right attitude towards their food and very modest to accept customer's critic, will go there again

On a foggy, cold night the Larrupin Cafe was warm and welcoming! My wife had the filet which she said was outstanding-my salmon was very good. Excellent service.

The restaurant (not sure why called a cafe) is a couple miles north of Trinidad, but easy to find. I had the mesquite-grilled salmon, my wife the tofu kebabs, and we shared. Both very good, as was the service. Extensive beverage list (wine, beer, cocktails, etc.). The interior is a marvel of, well, I don't know but worth seeing. Will... More

The ambiance here is great, although you can show up casual (as most places in Trinidad are). Outdoor seating, too, where they keep it heated as necessary. They had a live jazz group (Wed & Sun), Feral Jazz, that was delightful and unobtrusive to listen to. The menu items were varied, creative and tasty. I ended up ordering their Spicy... More

Looked forward to a great meal as we've been there before. I ordered the pork tenderloin and specifically said pink. It arrived overdone. After waiting 25 minutes while my wife had her cornish hen (she said it was dry), the new order of pork arrived and it was literally raw inside. The manager was called and delivered a order of... The food is scrumptious and the environment is lovely. My husband and I eat there whenever we are in the area (once or twice a year). Dinner comes with an appetizer tray which is very good but we always add the baked garlic which is delicious. This time my husband had the fresh Klamath River oysters and the special smoked... More

What a delight having a delicious meal at the Larrupin Cafe. We ate on the patio and it was very comfortable and the jazz trio was a real treat. We had the blackened salmon and the pork tenderloin both of which were very good. Lovely place to dine with very good service.

My husband and I shared the chicken in phyllo dough, as I had never that particular preparation before - it was really good, and very filling. The most amazing part of the meal was the house appetizer platter given at the start of the meal. All of the ingredients were superb on their own, and all could be combined in... More

This restaurant was really good in all ways. The décor was unusual and eclectic - with a colorful Chihuly glass sculpture in the dining room! The food and service were excellent. This was a nice change after days of road tripping. Highly recommended.
