Have you been to a restaurant with indoor dining, that has trees growing through the dining room? How about a place that will cut off your tie, even if you are the president, of the United States (Richard Nixon)? This is the place. This place...is part of my youth. It opened when I was ten. At the time, there was nothing around. Well, there were trees and a park. You had to drive a dark, twisty, two lane road to get there. There were a couple reasons to be in the neighborhood: this restaurant and the park. It's a lot easier to get there now. The food and service are still great. The prices are fair. I mean you get more than you pay for. Don't miss this place. There's nothing else like it.More

Unusual steak house that doesn't allow ties. Built around oak trees, it is a historic restaurant with a casual atmosphere. If you wear a tie, prepare to have it cut off and hung on the wall. We had our grandson wear one and he was...surprised when they cut it off! The food is very good and so is the service. We enjoyed the ribs and the fish and chips. You can also skip the main course and just order "the sides". Great idea for someone who doesn't want a big meal. Glad we found it and we will go back.More

Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse is a casual, relaxed place to enjoy a fine cut of meat. The walls on the inside are covered with neckties that have been cut off of customers over the years, so wear a tie if you dare! There are several choices...of beef available to order, along with some chicken and seafood dishes, but go there for the beef! Each meal starts off with a basic green salad with oil and vinegar dressing, but it is absolutely delicious! I’ve only ordered the beef, so I can’t speak for the other dishes. The meals are served on a metal platter, cooked to perfection. If you like French fries, their shoestring fries are outstanding! Baked potatoes are also available if you prefer. A full bar serves alcohol if you wish. Service is very friendly and attentive. The smallish parking lot is only available for valet parking. The restaurant’s location is quite isolated and very peaceful near O’Neil Regional Park. I always leave fully satisfied after eating there. Enjoy!!More

Hidden in the Canyon. Popular restaurant with terrific fries. Fun to find and take time to read the walls.

Cowboy-Up Y’all This legendary Orange County California restaurant is the home of good eats. Steaks, chicken or fish, every meal is a pleasure for your pallet. Full bar and wonderful wine selection awaits connoisseurs of all levels. Nestled in Trabuco Canyon, enjoy the quiet surroundings...while relaxing with family and friends for a special evening of dinning. WARNING, ties are not allowed, so if you show-up sporting one be prepared to see it hanging on the wall awaiting your next visit. Parking is limited, I suggest you call early for reservations. My favorite is called Cowboy, it’s a 32 oz sirloin steak cooked just the way you like it. So Cowboy-Up Y’all.More

If you have not visited this historical landmark, it is a must. This quaint 50-year-old steakhouse located in rural Trabuco Canyon is perfect for any occasion including anniversaries, date night or just meeting friends for a beer and burger! The bar was recently renovated and...they have great specials Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. The onion rings and jalapeño poppers are my personal favorite for appetizers. The burgers and spaghetti are great for kids and adults… They have a great wine by the glass menu too If you visit on a Friday night between late May - September, you can walk to the patio of the General Store & listen to the locals play live music ranging from 1800’s church hymns to Beatles to classic country tunes...More

Filet and baked potato were good. Salad and bread mediocre. Salads tasted like the lettuce came from a bag and was also drenched in dressing. The onion ring jalapeño popper appetizer tasted like they bought them in the freezer section of the local grocery store....For $38 for a meal, you would think everything would be super fresh. Would not go back. I was surprised by how many people were in the restaurant - but I suppose it’s kind of touristy.More
