Really enjoyed dancing the night away with beauty, welcoming people, cool decor & beach vibe. Who doesn't love the South Bay?!

Good Live music and entertainment. Food was good and the server was fun and attentive. Fun place and great for a beer.

Great customer service and cool ambiance but I found this spot way overpriced. It is located in a strip mall and I was hoping to really like it. Which I did, sort of. I spent about $15 on a chicken ceasar salad. Eh.

The lack of curb appeal at Hey 19 might make you scratch your head and wonder if it is a seedy, shots and beer hole in the wall kind of place. But if you drive off without setting a foot in the door, you'd definitely...be missing out on an interesting experience that would make you want to come back for more. Sure, it looks like they haven't redecorated in 50 years and that you're stepping back in time but that is definitely part of the eclectic charm! They do have taco and half-price drink specials during happy hour but we opted for one of the several fruit-infused vodka cocktails and it did not disappoint. Ask for a spoon to scoop out the fruit and it will knock your flip flops off! Not being in the mood for tacos but something a little more substantive, we chose the salmon salad which was served on a cutting board, salmon on the bottom, topped with the greens and sliced brussels sprouts. Delicious and plentiful! They offer seasonal eclectic selections on the menu so there's something for everyone. Friendly, attentive service too! We will definitely be back!More

Having found this in another search, we were curious. Driving up to it, we were... well, we were worried. It's in a small strip of shops that are really, really run down. That said, we can excuse location IF they've done something to the place....Well, this place is funky in the BEST sense of the word. For a party of nine, we were also worried because... we hadn't made reservations for lunch. With one person handling the front of the house, we waited to be acknowledged. So far, none of what I've written sounds like it deserves a rating of "EXCELLENT." We were seated at a table with non-matching chairs. The menus are thick books, wrapped in peechee folders to resemble some throwback to high-school classes. The food is fancifully named, so read all the descriptions! We started with appetizers - sausage in pastry puffs, cauliflower & brussel sprout mix, fried deviled eggs, and tempura battered zucchini. Each of those had its own unique flavors. I could have made a meal out of the apps offered. For a party of nine, everyone found a little something to enjoy. The waiter/bar-tender was the ONLY one covering the front of the house. This place is known for being slow because everything is fresh and made to order. Our waiter was spread thin, but handled everything SO well. He continued to smile and made sure we were well covered. The drinks we had were clever - I had a bourbon and fig mix, my wife had a watermelon and vodka concoction. Others at the table had a thyme/bourbon/lemon mix and one had a variation on a mai tai. All enjoyed! AND THE FOOD WAS AMAZING - The BIG BEN is a burger and fried egg on a "puck" of mac n cheese. There was bacon and cheese involved, too. Now, I hadn't had breakfast so by the time I had gotten through the appetizers to this, I was still so ready. Oh my gosh! The flavors just burst through. GET THIS. Biscuits and Gravy with a side of eggs received the happy moans of "ohhhh... ohhhh, that's good." Chicken and Waffles were well received and quickly devoured. The flavors popped with perfection. The three-course-lunch of soup/salad/sandwich made for lighter, but filling fare. (The cauliflower soup tasted more like a garlic soup. Delicious. Truly delicious and so much healthier to have a cauliflower puree than having a cream-based soup.) Plus side - Food, Drinks, Funky Atmosphere. Down side - speed of service/food-delivery. We weren't in a hurry. In fact, we came to spend time with each other. This place was GREAT. If we lived locally, this would be OUR place. Don't come to be in a hurry. Come for the flavors of the food. Relax into the experience. Oh, and pricing - we fed a family of nine for under $250 including apps and drinks. That's pretty amazing to me. This is a GREAT value! You're going to love this place. We did!More

Came with my wife & our kids. We were enthused because we'd never been, it's convenient, & we're big fans of their sister restaurant (Ortega 120). Left somewhat disappointed after spending nearly $100 on dinner. On the plus side: *Friendly staff *Really nice ambiance; more...of a bar vibe than restaurant *Kid-friendly re: menu selection On the minus side: *Took too long to be served when the place wasn't very busy. I know the food is "made to order" but bringing our something for the kids to nibble on shouldn't take 45-50 mins post order (and you know the order isn't taken the moment you first sit down either) *If they're going to take so long to serve the food (and to their credit they do announce this on their menu upfront), they might want to consider have something on the table already (bread, chips, peanuts, anything). *Food was just OK. "The Wally" is the name of the salmon dish if I recall correctly. Came loaded with a cream sauce (probably high fat) that I felt canceled out the health benefits I was seeking when ordering salmon. Didn't care for the taste. *Only 3 beers on tap Takeaway: Probably wouldn't return. Not a "bad" experience...just too much $ to leave feeling underwhelmed.More

Went on a Sunday afternoon with 2 friends. The brunch menu was also available. 1 friend had vegetarian tacos that she loved. Another had a hamburger that came with shoestring French fries (great). I had a turkey & sandwich in a tureen type bowl covered...in melted cheese. It was really good. It came with soup & I chose tomato basil. I would have eaten a gallon. It also came with a salad. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and nice. All of us loved our food. We had water. Bill was about $42. I would see go back. Sorry no pic.More

Nice place to sit, talk, enjoy the ambiance (star wars on screens) and even eat some (although we did not). We enjoyed the background music too. They have specialty drinks and a history behind them. Lots of "home cooked" beverages :)

This place is awesome. The servers are quick and friendly and the manager comes around often enough to make sure that everyone is having a great time. The ambiance is welcoming and the menu packs enough to give anyone a satisfying meal. My friends were...celebrating their birthday and we ordered appetizers, a few entrees, and 2 big mason jars of mojito and margarita. The drinks were pretty strong ..... make sure you have a little bit of food in your tummy so you can last through the night. Shout out to the live band "Acoustic Soul" who was playing that night!!! Music was great!More

Been wanting to try Hey 19 for a while and finally made it in. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. The menu was interesting and fun. Good selection of food. We liked all of our food that we ordered, especially bacon/jalapeno tater...tots, two way mac and cheese (jalapeno / Bacon) and specialty cocktails. It is very noisy so if you want an intimate dinner, might want to take that into consideration before going. They were way late seating us for our reservation. Hope this was a fluke. We will be back, even if it is JUST for the MAC!More
