About
Established in 2013, owners Renzo and Crystal were honeymooning in Tiburon and came across the vacant restaurant on a romantic stroll on Main St. They put a lot of love into the renovations to enhance the beautiful spot. Executive Chef Renzo has been a restauranteur for over 15 years and his new wife Crystal is happy to assist with the front of house. The name Luna Blu means blue moon in Italian, it relates to their honeymoon and also something special and rare "once in a blue moon". Serving weekend brunch, lunch and dinner. We are business partners of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program, which means we only serve sustainable seafood. Also our meat and poultry is all naturally raised

Picked the restaurant as top rated on TripAdvisor. My three impressions: 1. Seated on the street as the patio was full. Good nice location. 2. Slow but friendly service. Took us ~15 min until the waiter came to our table and service didn’t really pick...up from there. Waiter was friendly and professional just slow service. 3. Food poor. This one was a shocker- I ordered the Tagliolini Al Grancho as it sounded sumptuous “homemade beet taglioni pasta served with fresh dungeon crab in a champagne cream sauce” It arrived looking and tasting like a reheated, mess. Could barely stomach one bite. Shockingly bad. To his credit the waiter, when he saw I had barely touched it, offered to take it off the bill without me even asking for it. The raw tuna starter and meatballs were acceptable and the lemon sea bass good. The calimari was rubbery from over cooking. Good location, slow but friendly service, poor food.More

Thank you for joining us over Labor Day weekend. We are sorry you didn’t make a reservation and get a table with a view. We are recovering from Covid-19 and have an extra 30 seats on the street. This increases our restaurant space by an...More

Trying to find an outdoor restaurant with a view in this Covid era, wife and I were lucky to find Luna Blu on Yelp. This is a truly wonderful and tasteful (in all senses of the word) restaurant with a dreamy view of the marina....With a reservation for 12:30 PM, we were seated promptly at a table which was properly socially distanced from others, with fresh breeze from the marina, and a parasol to block direct summer sunlight. We had Crab bisque which was outstanding- creamy, tasteful, delicious! The fried calamari & zucchini was also exceptionally good, especially the dipping marinara sauce which was the best we have ever tasted. We also had the caponata which was good but somewhat different from what we expected. Truly outstanding were the main courses – cioppino for wife (delicious, succulent, flavorful!) and fileto al gorgonzola! The latter was the best fillet mignon I ever tasted, done just right – rare, and with a truly heavenly flavorful creamy gorgonzola sauce! Just for this, I’ll come back here ASAP. The service was professional if leisurely (probably Covid is causing havoc with restaurant employees), and the spicy bloody Mary I had was satisfyingly refreshing. Luna Blu is a truly outstanding find for us.More

We sat at a very nice patio table with water views. There is views of the boat and of the yacht club. There are also nice statues on the patio area. Service was very good. We enjoyed their cheese bread. I had clam fettucini. My...husband enjoyed spinach ravioli. For dessert, we had their yummy cannolis. We had drinks and wine with dinner.More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed our new patio area. The statues are from Danielle Anjou and the “Diver” you see was in the Louvre of Paris. Danielle was the 1st American figurative sculptor to ever have a piece shown there!...More

Try and get a seat in the patio outside facing the Bay, the views are fabulous. Seafood dishes are great.

We both had the branzino, which was delicious. I had a caprese salad, which we could have shared--very generous portion. My husband enjoyed the crab bisque. Our desserts were heavenly as well. The lemon cloud very light and the spiced pear and gelato wonderful as well....Very enjoyable dinner!More

Me and my wife just went there today for a brunch and we were super super pleased of this experience! This place has a very elegant sobriety, at the entrance the hostess Michela was very helpful and smiley and she accommodated us very quickly in...a very nice table in the patio where we had a beautiful view of the city of San Francisco while eating. I'm Sicilian myself and I'm very picky about Italian/Sicilian food but this place met beautifully all my expectations. My wife had a fantastic salmon salad where the salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned , I had a superb sea bass in a pistachios crust, just thinking of it my mouth still gets watery....The service is great and Eli the waiter was attentive to our needs and yet discreet. Finally, don't forget to try the homemade limoncello made with the organics lemons picked up from the owner's lemon tree! I highly recommend Luna Blu !More

We were here this past Saturday night and loved the food. My brother and I each had teh special squid ink pasta a la Scoglia (shellfish/seafood in a garlic white wine broth) and it was one of the best versions I've had outside Italy (my...family used to live in Italy). Also ordered the fried squid and zucchini appetizer, which was lightly breaded in cornmeal without being greasy...how they managed to do this is a mystery to me--e devoured that dish. My mother had the lamb loin in a red wine reduction, which she felt was too heavy for her--but the portion was very generous. Still, shekept stealing pasta from our plates. This is a great find, and we'll be back for special occasions (bill for appetizer, three main dishes and three glasses of wine was $169, not counting tip, so for us it is definitely "special occasion land."More

Luna Blu is everything a great restaurant should be. Lovely ambiance, delicious food, impeccable service and delightful people. Cocktails were great, too. We want to go back for lunch and sit on the deck. Make reservations as it's small and popular.

Our family gathered here on our recent trip to the West Coast. Tables were out on deck on the water, but shielded from the cool evening breezes. The food was wonderful, and the service very friendly. Highly recommend this place for a quiet dinner.

if you are lucky enough to get a seat on the deck then enjoy the view of the boats. A better view is on the deck of the larger restaurant down the street. The food was very good...muscles especially large. The staff was prompt and...friendly. We were suprised by the large selection on the menu. Very nice!More
