We caught Sams on a late Saturday morning. Very happy to see they had a Brunch menu. The facility is Bigger then it looks. The Patio over the water was full but we had a table, inside, with a grand view, all the same. Service...was prompt menu with many selections. I chose Eggs Benedict, my Wife chose Chicken and Waffles. Both were very good, though I wish the sauce was more flavorful.More

I used to come here regularly with friends in my earlier days and it was such a fun place to gather. With the nice weather, decided to come back and pay a visit after the lunch rush as they get extremely busy. They have done...a beautiful job of updating and remodeling the restaurant - new tables, new chairs and heaters on the deck since I was last here. It was not busy when we arrived and they sat us at a great table that overlooked the dock and a beautiful view of San Francisco. In the earlier days, Sam's was not known for its amazing food - just the social scene. Well, the food has changed quite a bit for the better. Ordered the Spicy Salmon Cracklin Sandwich ($26) which came with housemade potato chips. The salmon sandwich was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The chips were so light, thin crispy and not greasy. Also had the Grilled Caesar ($14) - wasn't sure how it was going to come out but grilling it gave it amazing flavor. It was a large portion that was grilled and topped with dressing, croutons and parmesan cheese. Our server was very good and took time explain how the dishes were cooked on the menu. Never felt rushed and really gave us time to enjoy the view. They were very mindful of COVID requirements all wore masks and kept distance. Would love to return on another warm sunny day!More

Honestly, I thought the view of a few boats was average, as was the food. Real estate prices must be high based on the menu prices... The waiter, however was outstanding. We didn't have to wait for anything, his suggestions on drinks was spot on....He saved a star...More

Hubby and I stopped for lunch on route home from SF last week. It was a lovely day -sunny and a very slight chill. Sitting on the deck is always the best, even in pre Covid times. The restaurant does not take reservations. However, our...wait was short and we were escorted to our own table spaced quite far from the next table. Everything was immaculate, and the waiter and other servers all wore masks. I felt quite safe during Covid times. Hubby and I split a Caesar salad and a most delicious burger - the perfect amount for us. As always, everything was perfectly presented, and cooked to perfection. This is a wonderful restaurant. I've been here many times and I will return again. Thank you. By the way, our waiter, Carlos, was excellent.More

We had a good lunch a Sam's Anchor Cafe at Tiburon. We sat on the patio that has scenic views of the water. We had cocktails. I ordered a Mai Tai, my husband enjoyed his drink. We shared their tasty watermelon salad. For lunch, I...had the lobster sandwich which comes with chips. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. Service was good.More

Went during Covid - half empty on deck at noon. The food was poorly prepared - a very sloppy job. Each dish was just underwhelming - many far lesser known cafes turn out better products.

We had lunch there on a cold day and it was almost empty but I can imagine it in the summer time , crowded because the view is splendid, beers are expensive, and so are glasses of wine , we only ordered fish and chips..., the portions were big though and1 beer ( again , dear ) I guess , we pay for the view and the fact that there are few opportunities to eat there, in this " village".More

The food was nice. The view from the terrace is quite good as well especially if the weather is good. The staff is polite although they didn’t brought what we exactly asked for. The WiFi is difficult to connect to.

I used to go to Sam's Anchor Cafe often when I lived in the San Francisco area decades ago and always loved the experience. On a recent visit to the city, I was feeling a bit nostalgic about many places and decided I wanted to...take the ferry to Tiburon to eat at Sam's again and to introduce the restaurant to my husband. A part of me feared that the memories would be far better than today's reality. But I needn't have worried. We arrived around noon on a Sunday to a bigger Sam's than I remembered and a restaurant in really good condition compared to the earlier era. The entrance through a bar to a big back deck remained the same, though the deck seemed to have expanded. It appeared to be full with customers and I thought we would have to sit inside the dining room. Instead, the greeter took us immediately to a deck table for two, which I had not seen. Service has improved greatly. A waiter came immediately to us for a drink order and came back quickly for the food order. I opted for a Caesar salad and my husband chose steamed mussels. As we waited for our lunch, I took in the awesome view, which had always been a big draw for me. The San Francisco skyline formed a backdrop in the distance with Angel Island much closer. Sailboats bobbed in the water, which shimmered in the sun. Many boats had moored nearby. Our delicious lunch (fresh, nicely prepared salad and perfectly seasoned tender mussels), which came in a timely manner, added to our enjoyment. Taking a ferry from San Francisco to Tiburon and stopping at Sam's for lunch proved to be one of the highlights of our stay in the area.More

Excellent food and drink! Came here twice in the same day because it was delicious. Fish and chips were flavorful and crispy. Chowder served in coffee mugs which was different but I thought it was cool. Excellent burger. Had Blind Pig IPA on tap which...is an excellent beef that is hard to find. Highly recommend.More
