We’ve been going to this restaurant for many, many years and it never disappoints. You’d never guess, when looking at the facade, that Sam's has a great deck with seating overlooking the water. The bar is fabulous, as is the menu. My husband enjoyed some...of the best fish and chips he’d had for quite a while. The waitstaff is fun, attentive and friendly. We dine out a lot, and I can’t quite put my finger on the difference between Sam's waitstaff and the norm, but the hostess and our server were genuinely friendly, which made us feel so good.More

This has always been a fun stop On a nice day to sit and have a beer , take in sf city skyline and check out all the gorgeous boats. It seems like fish and chips were the normal fare ? Maybe we never ate...? We came around sunset the other night.. had a nice bottle of Pinot noir and enjoyed oysters and French onion soup. They had a crab avo toast.. menu has really come up . Will be backMore

Last week while visiting my family in Tiburon I took them for a casual dinner at Sam’s. I was extremely disappointed at the simplest Meal one could order - I burger at simple burger. First ai ordered it wupith blue cheese, carmalized onions, no lettuce...and medium rare. The burger came with whatever their special ,sauce spread on one side, lettuce , a burger so thin I do better at in and out, the blue cheese appeared to be possibly a dressing of blue cheese. Dry, no taste other than the special sauce, the tangy Bauer cheese snd a dry burger - very disappointing - the best part of the meal was my grandson’s Mac and cheese. Shame it has the optional because of the atmosphere to be a top notch place. Granted we had a great bottle of Rose - four people $220:with tip one woukd think you woukd have been eating a bit better meal - how do you screw up,a burger - you offer tge customer a premade, probsvly precooked not a juicy burger!More

Food is okay. But you're paying for the view. It's always crowded. Service is slow because it's crowded.

My honey and I had landed a few hours earlier in San Francisco and were working our way to Sonoma. Boo suggested we go to Tiburon for lunch and he likes Sam's Anchor Cafe. There is a quaint upscale Boardwalk where Sam's is located along...with several other boutiques and eateries. Fortunately we were seated right away on a Sunday around 3:30. I've never seen so many dogs at a restaurant, it was a good thing. Lots of dog friendliness and we were seated overlooking a big deck and marina of boats. There was a lot of activity and it was crowded. We both wanted seafood, Boo ordered the Sam's Louie and I ordered the appetizer of Garlic Prawns. We shared an order of Fries w/Dungeness crab! It was a great light lunch. The service left a bit to be desired. I wish the waitress would have checked on us a few minutes after delivering our food to see if we needed anything because we did. She waited until we were almost finished to check in. We did hunt someone else down who assisted us. But I'll only take off one star, the food and ambiance were good & Fun!More

View outstanding in outdoor patio! Great place to stop for beers and crab cakes! The dinner options were average, fish tacos, hamburger and poke.

We are regulars at Sam’s for dinner but this was our first time at happy hour. Menu says drinks are half off on Monday and Tuesday. We were charged full price. Waiter then told us “that only applies to well drinks.” Asked for the manager,...who said the same. Only after insisting that the menu did not contain that information, and said only “drinks”, did he offer to remove two of the cheaper drinks from the bill. Attaching a screenshot of their menu for reference. My advice? If they don’t edit their menu, go order their most expensive bottle of wine at HH, then demand half-off. You’re entitled to it.More

Sam’s Cafe has been a go-to location for us whenever we’re visiting Tiburon/Sausalito. Especially in the warmer months when you can sit outside on the patio deck area. The food is delicious and the view of The Bay is beautiful. We would have given a...5, but they recently got new owners who have renovated the restaurant and it no longer has that typical fishing village feels. It has a much more commercialized feel.More

We were there for almost 3 hours, started just wanting to have a cocktail and enjoy the view. It was beautiful, and we were warm with the unexpected heated seats! Way better than any heat lamps. Service was good, but especially enjoyed getting to know...Cynthia at the end of her shift. Drinks were good, we only had fried calamari, which was good but greasy. Overall we thought the food was very expensive, but that is what you pay for the view.More

We caught Sams on a late Saturday morning. Very happy to see they had a Brunch menu. The facility is Bigger then it looks. The Patio over the water was full but we had a table, inside, with a grand view, all the same. Service...was prompt menu with many selections. I chose Eggs Benedict, my Wife chose Chicken and Waffles. Both were very good, though I wish the sauce was more flavorful.More

I used to come here regularly with friends in my earlier days and it was such a fun place to gather. With the nice weather, decided to come back and pay a visit after the lunch rush as they get extremely busy. They have done...a beautiful job of updating and remodeling the restaurant - new tables, new chairs and heaters on the deck since I was last here. It was not busy when we arrived and they sat us at a great table that overlooked the dock and a beautiful view of San Francisco. In the earlier days, Sam's was not known for its amazing food - just the social scene. Well, the food has changed quite a bit for the better. Ordered the Spicy Salmon Cracklin Sandwich ($26) which came with housemade potato chips. The salmon sandwich was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The chips were so light, thin crispy and not greasy. Also had the Grilled Caesar ($14) - wasn't sure how it was going to come out but grilling it gave it amazing flavor. It was a large portion that was grilled and topped with dressing, croutons and parmesan cheese. Our server was very good and took time explain how the dishes were cooked on the menu. Never felt rushed and really gave us time to enjoy the view. They were very mindful of COVID requirements all wore masks and kept distance. Would love to return on another warm sunny day!More

Hubby and I stopped for lunch on route home from SF last week. It was a lovely day -sunny and a very slight chill. Sitting on the deck is always the best, even in pre Covid times. The restaurant does not take reservations. However, our...wait was short and we were escorted to our own table spaced quite far from the next table. Everything was immaculate, and the waiter and other servers all wore masks. I felt quite safe during Covid times. Hubby and I split a Caesar salad and a most delicious burger - the perfect amount for us. As always, everything was perfectly presented, and cooked to perfection. This is a wonderful restaurant. I've been here many times and I will return again. Thank you. By the way, our waiter, Carlos, was excellent.More
