Food and service excellent - - - we had not been to McPhee's for a while and after dinner this weekend we perhaps wondered why. Our group of 13 had a variety of meals, but the scallop tostada was a particular favorite - - really...More

Our first time dining here. My husband had a huge pork chop which was very tender. I had the Jidori chicken which was also excellent. Wine list and service were also very good. We will definitely dine here again next time we are in the...More

... there is so much more! Ok, here is the bottom line. The burgers are great at this understated small town Main Street place. Trust me this is a place locals go to. Walking in, a local regular patron recommended the tempura shrimp salad which...More

Nicely prepared meals with great service. I went there with a group of friends and it was busy but still quiet enough so we could all hear each other talk. The wait staff came by frequently enough to be helpful but not so much that...More

This quaint restaurant in downtown Templeton is one of the very best in central coast dining. The service is superb, the chefs are awesome.

This was my second visit to McPhee's Grill. We live in Camarillo so I don't visit Templeton that often. The experience exceeded my expectations. We had a nice table in one of the cozy rooms in the historic building. Our server was attentive and his...More

We went for dinner on a Sunday evening. The place was full, but we had reservations and were seated immediately. The service was prompt and very attentive. It was a little loud, but people were obviously enjoying themselves, and it didn't impair our conversation across...More

We came to the Central Coast for a wine tasting weekend and initially had reservations at a "go to" place in Paso Robles. Our wine tour driver recommended we try McPhee's in Templeton. He gave it such a positive review we canceled our previous reservations...More

Yes there is and unfortunately its one of the highest out there. If I remember (and I could be wrong) its about $20. Better to just go and have their wine. Their house wines are very good.

I am glad to know about your experience. I have the impression of Templeton being an uptight, conservative town! Other diners might be able to weigh in here about your message. I hope so.

I've lived in Templeton since I was 11 years old... Back when it was a po-dunk farm town. It's definitely lost that vibe and become more of a yupee feel, which I hate, but unfortunately it's the way things go when you live... More
