We had wanted to come here for a long time, but waited for a special occasion. Unfortunately we we’re very disappointed. 4:00 weekday and we had to wait a long time for our food. Two people sent their prime rib dip sandwiches back since the...roll was burned. It came back without being toasted at all, just room temp out of the bag. And the beef in my stroganoff was so tough I could not cut it easily. It was also hard to chew. It was nothing like we expected. Especially for the money. Possibly they were having a bad day or a new chef, but we won’t go back. It’s too expensive to not know how the meal will be.More

The food was delicious and the service was great! Chelsea was our servicer and was attentive, smiling, friendly and made us feel welcome. We were there to see our friend, Michael, guitarist and he was performing in the bar.... We had an awesome time and...will definitely be going back.More

I've been wanting to visit this place since I first found out about it. Disappointed in the service received. Not hard to have the bartender "google" a drink if you don't know it or never heard of it. Is it not common practice to ask...your guest if they would like to order an appetizer? I also believe you eat steak with a steak knife, NOT A BUTTER KNIFE. Please bring one with the order. It is not nice to bring the steak knives to the table well after the steak order has been placed on the table. Finally, if I order an extra order of bread, tell me you don't do that instead of leaving me to wait, and wait, and wait, and no bread is ever brought to the table. Ridiculous, poor service. I will not recommend this place to anyone and will always have a negative memory about this place. Sorry, don't go there. Go to a restaurant where the service is well worth what you are paying for.More

What was once a favorite of ours, Gambling Cowboy was a disappointment last night. It appeared as if there were lots of employees working, but our waitress kept disappearing and we had to ask for her more than once. The main problem was one of...our $48 filet that was ordered medium. It was well done, and she took it back (but left the rest of the plate). A new steak didn’t appear for another 20 minutes, then she offered to replace everything else which was cold. We got a 10% military discount but she barely apologized and we never saw a manager. She made the obligatory ‘shared dessert on me with four spoons for the table’ but we passed.More

We go to this restaurant once or twice a year. It is always busy. I made a reservation on a whim on Friday night. We got in with no wait and were seated promptly. We sat on the patio and had a fantastic meal and...absolutely the best service. The prime rib was some of the best we have ever tasted. The salmon dish was incredible. The restaurant brought us dessert as it was my husbands birthday, very good and appreciated.More

Wanted to try this restaurant because of good reviews, especially for the blackened ribeye. We both ordered it and it was a true medium rare. However, I’ve never had a ribeye that had as much gristle and fat. Even the tenderloin, my favorite part, was...so loaded with fat that there was nothing left after I trimmed it. This just was not a quality piece of meat. So disappointed, especially for $49.00. On the positive side, service was very good, as were the side dishes.More

First of all our server, Sarah, was super! She was friendly, engaging, attentive, and very efficient. She knows her job well, checking in with us at just the right intervals; not too frequently to be intrusive but never necessary to ask where she was. In...fact, all of the staff (from the hostess to the bus crew) who served us were attentive and professional. We had reservations for 6 pm on Tuesday before Christmas and were seated immediately. Not sure a res. was needed as there were plenty of open tables in the dining area. Likely because they are normally closed Tuesdays but were on a limited holiday schedule. Folks not yet aware? Sarah was there to greet us and take our drink order. They pour a decent sized martini and charge accordingly for it. No drink deals. We started with some clam chowder: good flavor with ample chunks of clam, average portion, but unfortunately was tepid, not hot. We were so hungry we didn't bother sending it back. My daily special 16 oz. ribeye was cooked to perfection and delicious, with a nice dark brown crust on top. This included mashed potatoes (I upgraded to baked) and fresh green beans. Another in our group had the 8 oz. filet which, she said was full of flavor, tender, and served just as she ordered. This is our first time back in quite awhile and we noticed prices have increased but not any more than other similar establishments of this quality. We will be back!More

The ribeye here was fantastic! We have beef farmers in our family so we are pretty particular with our steak and this one was great! The potatoes that they call cowboy fries or something like that…are amazing!

After defending this place the past few months when several of my friends have stopped going here I will be doing the same and no longer go here either.. The reasons for them complaining were about super slow service, bad or arrogant attitudes of the...bartenders (Amanda specifically) lousy cocktails and not so great food. All of which were the complete opposite in the past but lots has changed after the owner passed away. After experiencing these same things recently I've decided this is no longer a place I want to spend my hard earned money at either. Food was mediocre at best, burger was overcooked and salad was pretty bland. Prices are too high for all the problems they have going on. We did experience the super slow service as well as the barely palatable and overpriced cocktails. Service was horrible and it took forever to get our bill. After getting bill waited another 25 mins for server to pick up which she didn't so we had to take up to the bar ourselves to pay. We noticed two other tables had to do the same. The girls are just too busy behind the bar chatting and laughing amongst each other and on their phones. Prices are also too high for what is offered here. So now I think it just may be time for Gambling Cowboy to saddle up on your horses and ride off into the sunset. Bye bye.More

We celebrated the final night of our buddy's singlehood by having a wonderful dinner here. Started off with the Sweet Chili Calamari and then for dinner I had the Porcini Short Ribs (over a wild mushroom risotto and fresh green beans) while Shelly had the...Streak and shoestring fries. Both fantastic meals. Definitely stop by when visiting Old Town Temecula.More

We came to visit California and our friends brought us here. First, prepare to take food home. Second, the loaded baked potatoe is a meal by itself. The chef veggies (corn and green beans)are to die for!!! The cowboy kisses (jalapeños wrapped with bacon are...ok) but that calamari is some of the best ever!!! Note if you look online there maybe a slight difference when you get the menu. The only reason I gave a 4 is because the adult beverages were "off". Only the chocolate martini tasted the way it should. Normally I don't eat dessert at restaurants but we got the chocolate mousse (which was large enough for the table of 4) was sooooo good...I ate the majority of it. Lol. Enjoy!
