Great Dinner

Dropped in here out of the blue on the road to St. George, Utah. This small town has a lot of excellent places to eat, so I visited just a couple of them to pick one for dinner. The smell of the Barbecue, combined with the Desert type eclectic furnishings, convinced me to stay here. Beef Brisket was perfectly prepared with almost zero fat. Sauces (3) were all excellent. Side (beans) was not particularly a winner. Service was fast and efficient. Staff kept coming by to ask if I needed anything on multiple occasions, which is always appreciated. While I did not have beer it was clear that they had a wide selection of craft brews. When I was leaving the hostess was thanking everybody for dining there, which is always a special touch. Will stop here again if I am ever back in town..

Wow! We keep coming back and they don't disappoint

Whenever we're traveling from Barstow to Bakersfield we always stop here in both directions. On this visit we had the 1/2 rack with two sides and the pulled pork and shrimp combo. Everything was amazing. Try the red slaw as one of your sides. It's amazing

Worth another try

I wanted ribs, but they were out. Brisket was very tender, but served @ room temperature. Slaw & okra were good, but not exceptional. The sauce in the Spicy bottle was the same as the sauce in the Mild bottle. Drinking water, the total was about $23

Phoned in the order cause of the pandemic 55.00 family feast 7.00 12 oz mac n cheese and tip My husband picks it up its already tied . Tight He brings it home and I start to unpack it first thing is 1 garddn salad. Ok 2 pieces of bread ok I called and asked was this right the orde seemed off. She was dismissive and said it was right As I continued to unpack The bbq sauce i asked for a sample of all of them. Was not in the bag I called back and the phone went silent I heard no one so I just hung up. We were treating ourselves in a time of stress and chaos. We could have spent 20 at subway and had just as good food Beans were even crunchy. They won't get us again We try to buy local and was really looking forward to this meal. Below is what you get for 75.00

No masks on any staff member. Long slow order line. Pulled pork was pretty taste neutral, not like smoked meat. Brisket was lean, as we asked, but had weak or no bark. Fried okra was good. Black eyed peas were not good. Ordered unsweetened iced tea, and we received sweet iced tea. Doubt we will return.

Large Portions

An average place to eat with large portions. We ordered brisket sandwiches with sides of okra and beans. The okra was very good and the beans were okay. The brisket was tasty but overly fat. The bbq sauce was tasty. The prices were a little high for this type of place.

Delicious BBQ!!

I found your restaurant by googling BBQ in Tehachapi. We are staying at the Baymont, halfway on our way to our daughter’s home. We loved the food. I had the Pulled Pork Plate with Beans and Red Cabbage. It did not disappoint! The meat was delicious with the sweet bbq sauce! Hubby had 2 Beef Ribs, a Salad and Corn. He enjoyed it and said the Ribs had good flavor. He brought one big Rib back to the fridge in the motel. We recommend your Restaurant and will be back on our next trip thru Tehachapi.

Good BBQ

Ordered to go and the order was accurate. We had a pulled chicken plate and pulled pork plate. Both meats were cooked nicely and super tender. The sides of corn and baked beans were so-so. But the red slaw was tremendous. I could have made a meal of the red slaw alone.

When Going To A BBQ Get BBQ

Was not impressed! The typical BBQ meats were good; Brisket, Pulled Pork. The shrimp left a lot to be desired. Order house chili and asked if it had beans (I don’t like beans) was told it did not, but was full of beans. Took one bite without any beans but tasted like chili out of a can mixed with a little extra tomato sauce. Mac and cheese had a good flavor bit appeared to have been sitting around a long time as it was getting hard and stuck together. French fries were good. Stopped here passing through town. It was a one-timer for us.

Stood in line for 45 minutes, they basically stopped taking orders. Never said anything, just left us standing there. Not ideal for a pandemic. Phone orders were being taken though. They definitely need to rethink their technology and process! Pulled pork was amazing, beef was good. Skip the ribs. Mac and cheese was fabulous.

Indoor and outside seating, we chose the outside because it was a nice day. Staff were friendly and helpful on dinning options. Generous portions of meat. Brisket was great along with the pulled chicken. Good service on refills of soda, building was a little antiquated but had a old time charm. Overall a great place to grab some BBQ.
