Had the French dip and it was delicious. Sit on the deck and watch golfers tee off at Old Brockway...a gem. This is a place to go away from the bustle of kings beach.

This restaurant is listed as dog friendly, which they are (on their nicely shaded deck) but if you want water for your dog you need to bring your own bowl, which I found rather disappointing (and definitely not the norm for California restaurants that say they are dog-friendly!) The food is pretty average for a tourist area restaurant on a... More

We had been to Spindleshanks before and had good experiences, but this time did not meet our expectations. The food was good and the ambiance is welcoming, but the service needs some work. From the time that we walked in, we had the impression that they needed some improvement on efficiency. At each stage we had to wait for our... More

My husband and I were in Tahoe with another couple the weekend before the 4th of July. We wanted to go somewhere that had great food, nice wine, tables outside and a location where our dog would be welcome to sit with us. We were also hoping for an experience that didn't include the crazy crowds we've encountered before at... More

We stopped in after hiking at Spooner Lake and we had to have some breakfast, even tho it was noon. The restaurant serves breakfast all day, but no pancakes/waffles after 11:30. Fine. We wanted omelettes. I had a spinach, mushroom & onion with fresh avocado served with fruit & husband had a Vera Cruz with baby bay shrimp, Pico de... More

We have not been in Tahoe for couple of years. We loved Spindleshanks a few years ago. We revisited this restaurant a few nights ago. It did not disappoint. We love the new location, but we enjoyed the oysters Bienzo, the lettuce wedge with yummy blue cheese dressing. The butternut ravioli was made with home made pasta. The toasted pecans... More

You can not go wrong with any of your choices here, and they will help you find something special if you just ask. My husband enjoys the oysters fixed any of several ways...they are flown in from the east coast. I especially like the ravioli with pecans. The wait staff has been around the area for years, so are very... More

I enjoyed the Brick Chicken with potstickers and Asian slaw with calamari as an appetizer with Crumble Tart with ice cream for dessert. We sat by the fireplace, there was live music and clever lights in apothecary jars on each table.

We enjoyed lamb t-bones, which we had never had before. They were great. The restaurant is intimate & cozy.

After being in the snow all day we were very hungry and struggled a bit to find a good place to eat in this area that wasn't already packed. We found Spindleshanks on TA and with no real expectations were delightfully surprised to receive immediate seating, great service and excellent food. I suppose all things are relative, but in my...
