My husband and I visited this restaurant for a nice day at the lake on a Sunday. We ate outside overlooking Lake Tahoe. We had the prime rib sandwich, Caesar salad, Mexican shrimp appetizer and seafood louie salad. Food was very good and the views of the lake are quite spectacular. However, the service lacked. No follow through and quite... More

The food was what I would call ok...I am a picky eater and therefore I usually stick to steak or chicken. I ordered the center cut fillet. I requested it medium well, but it was very well done. When it was brought out to me, the staff called it the Bison fillet. I responded that I ordered the center cut... More

We wanted a nice dinner restaurant with a view and had stopped in to see Jakes interior and menu earlier in the day. We made a reservation for dinner requesting a table with a view. When we came for dinner they had never heard of us so we ended up with a table right in a very high traffic area... More

Piss poor service, piss poor cleanness, and nothing but average food. The only thing i liked about the place was the tall doors upon entry. There are many other options in Tahoe City I recommend you try before this one.

We were a group of 6 adults and 8 kids ranging in age from 7-13. The service was fabulous, the food was delicious and the view was incredible.

We arrived at 430 and waited about 10 minutes while the staff came to us and said it will be only a moment over and over. Finally, the hostess said please have a seat at the bar and we will seat you around 5. I got upset because they had just seated another couple on the patio, and they said... More

We dined outside with friends on a beautiful evening. Jake's Crab Cakes are delicious, and they were my favorite dish of the night. The Macademia Crusted Halibut, the Spicy Ahi, the Panko Crusted Ahi and, of course, a slice Hula Pie to share -- all delicious. Jake's is one of the nicer outdoor dining restaurants in Tahoe.

The view of the lake/mountains is not to be missed. Service was fast and accurate. Food was very good, if a bit pricey. The Udon noodle bowl is big enough for two, very tasty! The "Shaka" fish tacos were very good.

You're paying for the view, and that's about it. The service was average, the food average, the prices high. I was hoping for something locally caught but maybe that doesn't exist here? Ordered the halibut for $35 and it was just ok. The veggies were ok, the rice not impressive. The best thing was the rolls they brought out. Not... More
