This is THE place for a not-to-be-missed breakfast! It’s not a hidden gem; our party of five had to wait nearly an hour for a table. But it was absolutely worth it. The wait staff is fantastic – accommodating, friendly, welcoming, and super competent. The...menu is vast, and between us, we tried almost everything (except the humongous Scrambles, which looked delicious as they passed by on their way to other tables). The pancakes were the perfect combination of crisp and soft; the eggs were perfectly cooked; the potatoes correctly seasoned; the bacon and sausage cooked just right. Five stars are not enough!More

30 minute wait in a sunny courtyard with coffee and drinks available. Menu is extensive-you can have breakfast all day or lunch. Gluten-free friendly. All the food was great from French dip and Reuben to eggs, hash browns and homemade coffee cake (no up charge...from toast.) Obviously it was packed but staff was relaxed, friendly and efficient. Décor is bright and cabin-like, lots of nooks and crannies with tables.More

Stopped here on our way back out of town for breakfast and coffee. I opted for the French Toast (half portion) and I have to say that they have it perfected! The flavors were delicious and the bread they used to make it was awesome....Highly recommend this place.More

This place has amazing food and amazing coffee. My wife had a veggie Benedict with a side of fruit. She said that was amazing. The hollandaise was perfection and fruit was fresh. I had the eggs and pancake dish - scrambled with sausage. The pancakes...were light and fluffy. The syrup came warm. A great touch. The eggs were great. If I had 1 picky critique, the sausage were a touch overdone. Oh and the coffee. Multiple cups and we bought a pound of their beans. We will certainly be back. Maybe tomorrow. 😉More

The service was exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food was incredible! The best homemade gluten free bread we’ve ever had! Don’t forget to order your favorite barista coffee drink- we experienced the the best dirty chai we’ve ever had as well....The homemade split pea and ham soup was great and my eggs-benedict was complete with a lovely hollandaise sauce ( with lemony flavor - which I love!!) We strongly recommend this gem of a stop- breakfast all day!More

I was required to rate this place so I did the least but would have given a zero if possible. We decided to stop in for brunch due to a positive experience on a prior visit. We were short on time and requested first available...seating. This request placed us at the the bar and boy what an eye opener. The bar is like a hub for the staff they make and/or pick up drinks, stop for condiments, and wait on people at the bar. They weren't wearing masks but if you ask me I would prefer that they wear gloves. I saw multiple incidents where fingers were in drinks being made, fingers used to remove foam from atop a drink, and bare fingers used to pick through the peppers/lemons/limes/oranges to find the perfect one for the drink. While sitting at the bar I also witnessed these same individual wipe their face, rub their nose, and run their hands through their hair. Another event that bothered me was when a waiter stopped to drop off a plate to a waiting customer, he set a plate down that had an omelet on it and on top of the omelet he had set a smaller plate, he took that smaller plate off atop the omelet set it on the bar and proceeded to set the omelet in front of the customer who ordered the dish. Yuck! I thought I was safe in that I had water but when I requested a refill the waitress used a pitcher to refill my glass. One would think that would be safe, nope, she grabbed hold of my glass with her bare hand and gripped my glass around the rim. Needless to say I didn't drink anymore despite my being thirsty. I was appalled and somewhat nauseous by the time I left but I will not be retuning and hope this serves to inform management that they need to get serious about appropriate training in safe and sanitary food handling.More

Great little restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Nice deck for outside dining as well. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich which was perfectly cooked. My husband had one of the breakfast options that he enjoyed as well. Definitely worth a stop and worth a wait.

Good breakfast but I thought the cakes and eggs combo and the Fire Sign Special were a bit overpriced.

This was a great place to eat breakfast and lunch. Wished they were open for dinner too. Really big portions of what you order. The French toast with their homemade berry sauce was amazing.

Our first time here and we’d heard this place mentioned so we went over from our Sunnyside Lodge to check it out a little before 3:00. Saw they close at 3 so we asked if we could get a quick sandwich and she and the...other gals there were ultra friendly! The Reuben and Chicken Sandwich were phenominal and tortilla chips with the delicious homemade salsa were both really good too! Thanks Fire Sign for being so friendly right before closing time!:) yum!!!!More

Went to to ride the Truckee River Bike from South Lake Tahoe and on the way back stoped into Fire Sign for lunch. Got there around 2 PM on a Thursday so there was not wait and we were seating in the outside patio area....Heard so much about Fire Sign and the hype did live up to the experience. Service was really quick and continued responsive throughout the lunch. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich with a salad for the side and my wife ordered the Albacore Tuna (served cold). We both enjoyed our selections and the portion size was really good. We enjoyed the outdoor feeling and felt very safe with Covid precautions in place at Fire Sign. We both said a return visit to Fire Sign is in order on our next trip back to the area.More
