Tucked away near the lake is this exceptional cafe with a very accommodating waitstaff and exceptional food. We came for breakfast and had a great experience to start out our day. Most food on the menu is made fresh. Has a nice rustic interior.

This place is located right across the street from Lake Tahoe. Although there are no views of the lake it is a very pleasant place to sit and eat. The food is excellent. There is limited seating and it can get very busy so often there is a waiting line. Portions are large and prices are on the high side.

Yes, the one with that menu... the menu so many breakfast restaurants have adapted across the western US. Good, dependable, hearty plates with the usual choices. There are times when I like something unique and different. When I go here, that's not what I'm craving. I'm craving huevos, frittata, crepe, omelette, scramble, or pancakes, and with a side of potatoes... More

Just stopped by for lunch driving around Lake Tahoe and were so glad we did! Breakfast and lunch menus available with something for everyone. Great food, generous portions, lots for vegetarians as well. Fantastic local hangout, we loved it.

This reviewer first visited The Fire Sign in the Summer of 1975 and has never had a bad meal or experience since then. It is that cool time of the year and the glowing fireplace (pictured) is welcomed by us travelers. The Fire Sign has small comfortable eating areas so you do not feel as if you are in a... More

Lovely cafe serving all day breakfasts and lunches. Everything is all home made including their salad dressings, salsas and sweets. I had the cobb salad which was huge and very fresh. My other half had the tostada which was also plentiful and came with a basket of tortillas and salsa. Lovely find!!

I treated myself to Eggs Benedict and some orange juice, which was fresh squeezed. The Eggs Benedict was superb, it came with potatoes and was piping hot. The server was very pleasant and the ambience was cozy and comfy.

We had lunch at the Firestop every day we were in Lake Tahoe. All of it's food is made from scratch, we had the soup twice and it was lovely. As always in the USA the servings are huge, on the last day we shared a cheeseburger and it was lovely.

Luck would have it our room was not ready so my husband and I walked to a little restaurant across the street. The Fire Sign Cafe. It was busy but we were able to get a table in this old house converted to a restaurant, squeaky floors and all. I had the Ruben which came with tortilla chips and home... More

Stopped on a weekday around 1:30. They were packed so we managed a place at the bar. We ordered the Reubens and they were superb! This place serves breakfast and lunch all day, and surprisingly, I didn't see anyone else eating lunch except us - breakfast eaters all. As it was so busy, I figured we'd be forgotten and be... Description
Since 1978, Fire Sign Cafe has been a family owned and operated Breakfast and Lunch restaurant. We pride ourselves on our extensive menu, full of homemade food. Our restaurant has been a local favorite since it opened. It has been featured in several publications such as Sunset Magazine, as well as shown on Rachael Ray's, "Tasty Travels". Our great service and even better food are what keep people coming back!
