Very disappointing about this place. - raw oysters $3 per piece! ($18 per half dozen), mignonette sauce is just vinegar without taste. - $28 cioppino has 3 small shrimps, 2 mussels, and some fish and a lot of onion with tomato sause over and under. Cold and total lack of taste.

The is the go to place in SB, great food, great people, in and outdoor seating, funky bar and occasional live music. What could be better in this gem of a town.

We three were lunching during first day of extended motorcycle trip. Darn! Cannot recall name of our bartender/game show host/lion tame/Master of Ceremonies behind the bar! He was great. Made me a fan of Hornitos for my margaritas from here on. Great atmosphere and attitude. Food's good, too!

The food here is good. Service was excellent. The fish tacos were very good. Not a bad wine list. Nice terrace, across the street from the beach. Can be busy.

I was raised in a number of boarding schools so I will not generally complain about food. But I had the worst pork chop ever a few nights ago in this place. It was tough. Looked like it had not been defrosted properly. The mashed potato was cold. The broccolini were OK. Service was so so. Waitress did not back... More

This is right on the world famous Highway 1 on the beautiful West Coast of California and I was expecting a touristy diner, but I was disappointed! The bartender and service staff were incredibly friendly and I felt like I was local! Food was good diner fare and the clam chowder with beer and Tobasco was excellent. Well worth the... More

Not ever having stopped in, I expected a menu of burgers, fish & chips and basic cafe food. The menu was great though, with foods from mussels, clams, steaks, grilled fish, down to burgers and fish & chips. We ordered cocktails first and watch plates be served around us that were gorgeous, all foods looking well. My friend ordered shrimp... More

I hike often in Mt Tamapias and sometimes I will stop here and have there garlic fries and calamari.. Only because I can't get that kind of food in my area. They are reasonable on prices, food is good and when whether is good outside seating is the best.

We have been to the Sand Dollar many times over the last ten years. We usually go when a sunny day is forecast, although a cool foggy one can be fun too. While the food is generally pretty good, it's not what keep us coming back. There is a certain feeling about the place that says kick back and relax.... More

We picked a bad night. No oysters. We went there for oysters. What they did have were incessant flies buzzing all around our table. Food okay, nothing special. A bit pricey. Service was good. The music was a bit too loud. Unfortunately there are not many other choices in Stinson a Beach.
