You can't go wrong when you just want good home cooking, at a more than fair price! Great for lunch, and great for dinner! Easy to park, and consistently good food. You can see why it's been here forever!

Had the day's special - roast pork. Tender with not too much sauce. French bread and choice of soup or salad. I went with split pea soup. They don't have takeout soup containers and they serve a lot. It was good and thick. Side carrots...over cooked but mashed potatoes real. Decor simple, shopping center where located not high class. Presume dinner better option.More

Now with new ownership. Needs many improvements. This visit..bread was stale...rice & veggies were cold. Friend had error in their order. Do not think I will return. Old owners had it together, not new ones.

This restaurant used to serve a killer rack of lamb and prime rib dinner that comes with good soup and tossed salad, but I noticed a deterioration in food quality about a year ago and my most recent visit this weekend has not shown any...improvement. The prime rib was only so-so and the rack of lamb disappointing. The soup was still ok although we noticed the portions were diminished and the salad is no longer a tossed one but rather a plate with different items separately scooped on. No wonder the restaurant was not full even on a Saturday night. Don't know what went wrong but this change is definitely not for the better...More

We were in South San Francisco for a birthday lunch. I had the Patrale Sole and my wife had the Grilled Salmon. Both served with veggies and choice of soup or salad. The service is good and the prices are excellent. This restaurant has that...old time San Francisco feel. Great birthday celebration!More

My family frequented the unpretentious Garden Club in the 1980s-early 1990s. Its still a great family restaurant with easy parking and easy prices. The Chicken Cacciatore is hearty and delicious. The Fried Scallops were flavorful. Our server, Adele, was delightful. Thank you, we will be...back!More

This place is at the end of cemetery alley on Old Mission Road but it’s great. Went on a Thursday and had a great time. The bartender, Scotty was friendly and entertaining. The food was plentiful and really yummy. I had a beautiful blackened New...York steak and it was wonderful. Had to take a good chunk home. The server, Adele was efficient and super friendly. Definitely a point of destination, even if you’re not visiting a loved one who passed on.😉More

Never changes!! Same red Checkered Table Cothes! Same Old San Francisco feel!! The food is great! One of the few that still bring you bread and soup and salad! The soup and salad in big bowl to share! The stuffed chicken that came before main...course is wonderful I have been going there whenever I can for 40 yrs and have been away a long time this time. On a trip to Burlingame, a near by city, we drove to S.S. F. just to go to Garden Club A best kept local secret!! Don't miss out if you are nearby!!!More

Arrived on a Sunday around 5:30pm Slight wait. Ordered the Prime Rib special. My wife had the veal cutlet. Meal starts with bread, soup, salad and ravioli, served family style. Ordered the prime rib medium, came out closer to medium rare. My son had fried...shrimp. It was ok. Meals also came with a dessert. While the portions were good, the prices for the meal was a little high for the atmosphere. It has a cozy family style feel to it. Service was friendly.More

After you posted your question, I got a copy of their menu. There is no dinner service Mondays and Tuesdays. Prime rib is on the menu Wednesday through Sunday.
