47 Hills is a rare mix of great beer, great food, great ambiance and convenience/accessibility. To be fair there are a lot of great breweries in the Bay Area, but its unusual to find one that checks off so many boxes. The beer is awesome,...especially if you enjoy continental styles. The owner apprenticed in Bavaria, which you can pick up on if you pay attention to the atmosphere, the food menu, and, or course, the beer. It’s a seasonal rotating tap, so there may be different beers depending on what they feel like making, but there is usually one or two IPAs (this is California) and more than a couple continental styles on hand. If they have the stout on tap you should give it a try. The space is bright, open, clean and just a little industrial-chic. The food is really quite good – especially the wings and brats. And finally, the place is very easy to get to from 101 and it has its own parking lot. Even if you end up parking on the street it’s a pretty safe area. It is also very close to Costco and Costco gas. It’s a versatile spot, it makes for a good place to go with co-workers after work, to watch the game with friends, or for a laid back weekend beer brunch. Children and pets are welcome.More
