The menu is varied and extensive. Had take out there yesterday and had half of burger (best in Santa Cruz) with grilled onions and fresh homemade chips) finished by time I got home as a car passenger. Companion's Uncle Roy's BLT was equally Stella with wonderful baconr. Another fave is hot fried chicken sandwich. There are tables here to eat outside but it is a straight shot up 41st from the beach and is usually windy and chilly. Terrific good, great quality and upscale sandwiches a cut above. And, as such, they do cost a bit more. But well worth it. Can's say enough good about Surf City.

Went out to get some fresh air today and support local businesses. Online order, quick pick up and no touching. That‘s how it‘s done nowadays! 👌🏼 We sure enjoyed that touch of normality and thank the guys at Surf City Sandwiches for sticking around and feeding us! 🙏🏼

After wine tasting, this is the spot. The BLT with avocado is the best. You place your order at the counter, get your drinks and the food is delivered to your table. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside. Everyone enjoyed their lunch especially the home made potato chips.

Counter service. Check. Decent beer and ale list. Check. Better than average hot and cold sandwich list. Check. After 2:00 in the afternoon was a good time to visit. We had the Fig's Pig pulled pork sandwich and a Vulcan Mind Melt and one glass of ale. I recommend the Vulcan with a nice lasting heat from ghost pepper jack cheese. Lunch for two with tip was $39. So if you're craving craft sandwiches, hit the Surf. City.

My husband and I stopped in after hearing how good the sandwiches are...yes, they are very good. They are not your typical sandwich choices which is nice. My husband had a salad with his sandwich (chicken, bacon, chipotle sauce). He said it was very spicy but good. I had an Asian chicken wrap with their homemade chips. Sandwich good...chips were crunchy but too much salt for my taste. Cashier was not very pleasant...must have been having a bad day. We both said we would return and try another choice of sandwich.

I am visiting my cousin Rose in Capitola, California...for the 65th and Final Begonia Festival. Here's where we lunched the first day. Rose and I split a Surf City Philly – Angus steak, grilled pepper and onions, ghost pepper jack, American cheese and chipotle mayo on a French roll. The Philly’s meat was very good tasting…and moist…all the vegetables were grilled to perfection and the sauce added a real kick to the sandwich. We added an order of Beer Barnacles…tater tots with with a spicy habanero cheese sauce and topped with applewood smoked bacon and scallions…yum! The Barnacles were crisp…the sauce was very tasty…and who can resist bacon. I liked them. We sat outside on the patio and ate lunch….it was about 80* at the beach.

You can't take Philly out of a girl, and Surf City has the cheesesteak to make this girl happy and remember the sweet days of Philly cheesesteaks and cherry cokes. No more cherry cokes, but a really good California version of the classic on a delicious bun, great home made Chips, or a side of fries. Other delicious sandwiches too, but I go for my cheesesteak fix!

We were visiting friends who live locally and they suggested this place for our lunch. Owner is a very friendly gentleman. Our food was obviously fresh and of very high quality. They have an amazing sauce on the sandwiches and actually have homemade potato chips that came with our meals. Some indoor seating and outdoor seating as well. We will return when we are back in the area!

My husband and I came here while visiting with family in beautiful soquel. I am gluten free and had the mr natural sandwich (all veggies) with the gluten free bread. I loved it! Great flavor and enjoyed the fresh veggies. My husband had the French dip and was very pleased. The house made chips were great. We also got a basket of the garlic fries. Very tasty, fresh and garlicky! Not the cheapest place, but I think it's worth it for fresh and homemade. We would definitely return to this local favorite!

Group had grilled cheese, turkey avocado, seared ahi steak, and hot pastrami and swiss on marble rye. Pastrami and ahi were particularly stellar. All served with the house made chips. All excellent. Prices look a bit high compared to , let's say Safeway deli, but the quality and serving size are well worth the upgrade. Beer available. Limited indoor seating, with outdoor option.

We were on a long walk and stumbled upon this place. We heard their sandwiches were expensive, so we never thought of stopping. We were pleasantly surprised how good their sandwiches and veggie burger were, but it was pretty pricey. They don't substitute chips for fries, so we had to order that extra. The homemade chips were great. The caesar salad was tasty. It's conveniently located right off of 41st ave We will go back there when we have the craving for chips and a fancy sandwich, but for the same price, we'll go somewhere with a server who will wait on us.

Our sandwiches were fine. Nothing over the top amazing, but good. Good variety of choices and options. Chips were delicious. Prices were ridiculous. $10 for a turkey sandwich?
