We were told to visit here by a local shop girl. Upon entering you view the large and wooden bar/soda fountain. If you take the stairs to the basement you'll find yourself among me many used books for sale. The air is hot and humid...More

I was on a recent vacation to Sonora with my Mom and had read about this shop before our trip. I am so glad we took the time to stop in. Very interesting. According to the woman we spoke to there, the place was originally...More

On family vacation passing through Sonora, we loved this place! While my daughter ordered a classic ice cream soda, the rest of us explored the downstairs bookstore in what was once a mine shaft. Each end features a peek into the tunnel, complete with mine...More

We had no clue what to expect when we walked in, but were very surprised by the warm welcome we received. The bar area looks and is pleasant, and the lady of the establishment, Margie, is hospitable and fun to talk to. She knows a...More

We stopped into this little place to see the tunnels under neath where they use for coal mining. Cutest little book/library and very interesting!

Beautiful antique soda fountain inside of a charming book/antique store. Good ice cream, fresh pie. Sometime musicians are strumming in nearby lounge area. There's even a small cave or mine from the gold rush era you can see in the basement.

Nice light food, deserts and coffee. There is a great basement bookstore that is worth a look. This is a good place to take out of town guests. Lots of antiques an pd books and photographs by local artists.

Great place to stop. The address listed in Trip Advisor is off by about 3 blocks; but it's worth finding this place just for a malt and cone

We almost didn't have a chance to visit this last trip because of rains and timing. But kids insisted on visit before driving home. LOVE the sarsaparilla on tap. Half our family got ice cream and glass, other half hot sarsaparilla float. Be sure to...More
