Plaza Tequila is closed. Sold and new place is called Mi Ranchito. Have visited the newest location and they have an extensive menu. The wait staff could use some orientation however.

Husband had an allergic (nut) reaction to a dish that he has eaten at other places. When asked if they used mole sauce they said no. He only took one bite, but they charged us for his dinner. He ended up throwing up in the...parking lot.More

The Cal-Mex standards and wonderful Margueritas. Very laid back. Food service was attentive, prices were right ( especially in Sonoma) and the food itself was very good. Would be an easy place for families-- nice outdoor seating area also!

Plaza Tequila is owned and operated by the owners of another great mexican restaurant in Sonoma, La Hacienda. The chicken Mole was very good. The serving size was quite large and after enjoying the meal for some time, i was still able to bring leftovers...home for a great lunch the next day. The servers are friendly and attentive.More

They don't accept reservations. The have a nice outside seating area if you choose to do so. The food is very very good, and the portions are generous ! 3 out of 5 in our party asked for to-go containers. The prices are very reasonable...for their entrees.More

We go to Plaza Tequila as frequently as any other place because we like the menu, service and price. I love the chicken (grilled) burrito, which is more than I need. Then they even have larger burritos. Outside dining is available in warmer weather. Especially...appealing to me is the noise level, which is relatively quiet compared to most others, and best suits my hearing disability. It can be crowded at times, and once I had to park on the street since their parking lot was full.More

I went about two years ago and have been dreaming about the spicy shrimp (camarones a la diabla) ever since. Last night did not disappoint. Those shrimp are addictive, tangy, spicy, sweet... delicious! And I love that the sauce is full of veggies. Oh, and...the rice and beans are delicious. Arriving also at my table was a chicken burrito topped with sauce. That was so good, too, delicious, flavorful tender chicken, and rice, filled the burrito. It was simple and straightforward, but really tasty. The Plaza Platter appetizer plate is substantial enough that two people could eat just that for dinner and enjoy the variety of tasty appies. I must admit that I didn't love the salsa (but the chips were good), and the top shelf margarita was too sweet for my taste. The wait staff was really friendly and kind and made the vibe friendly and casual. If you are visiting from out of town and are in the mood for Mexican food and not foofy expensive Sonoma food, go eat like a local. Go when you've finished all your wine tasting, for example, as it's open all afternoon. This restaurant is not right on the town square of Sonoma, but it really is just a five minute drive from the main square. Take Uber (so you can have a drink and not bother figuring out how to get there) and go! So good!More

We've eaten here before, but went recently for a rehearsal dinner, where there were around 60 in attendance. We were accommodated outside on picnic tables. The main buffet food included beef, chicken, and shrimp, all which were tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. We had...a great time. It was nice to have our own space outside.More
