This is a real bakery/cafe, not a touristy establishment. Locals come here for coffee (had a few great conversations). As odd as this sounds, you can even get a bowl of slow-cooked oatmeal here. (Sometimes when traveling, it's a relief to eat goo, ordinary food.) Open all day. I'd go back!

My wife and I had "lunch" at 12:11pm on 11/16/16. As others have said, the place is small and there is very limited seating, but people were almost out the door waiting to order. With that and all the positive reviews on yelp, we looked forward to good food. We were wrong!! I ordered a tuna sandwich and my wife... More

We visited the bakery 3 times during a 4 night stay in Sonoma - this place was very busy in the morning and obviously popular for a reason! We loved the chocolate chewy cookies and angel cookies. On our last visit we were offered free bread - presumably what needed to be let go after the day's sales. We were... More

We stop by a few times a week, usually for bread. Every employee pumps right along helping to select a bakery or food item. Most items are very good and day old items on the front row are good value. You can walk down the side alley to view through the window bakers in action. Impressive. It would be more... More

This venerable spot on the square has gone seriously down hill since the most recent purchase and change of ownership. What used to be vey reliable albeit simple food is still simple but not reliable. The croissants are inedible. No way are they butter croissants. The almond croissants are dry and taste like they are made from lard. So sad... More

It's a bakery that also makes sandwiches. Located on the sonoma square, you can grab a sandwich and eat it there, in the park across the street or on the go.

Susan at Basque Boulangerie Café helped me setup excellent "Grab and Go" meals for two groups that I was sending off on excursions for the day. The quality of the food was amazing. A fantastic Breakfast and a perfect lunch. The prices are just as amazing as the food. They had all the food ready to go for our transportation... More

The café is located by Sonoma Plaza, great place to take a coffee break or even to have lunch. Place is full of locals which is always a good sign. Great cappuccino, fresh bread and an amazing Napoleon.

Staying in Sonoma, heard a lot about this bakery from our hotel concierge. Went there for coffee and breakfast in the morning, it was wonderful. The breakfast panini and ham, egg croissants were to die for. My wife had morning bun, awesome. On our way back home, we stopped by for some sandwiches to go and them on the road,... More

Went there Sunday morning for breakfast. Fantastic bakery, and the egg, bacon and cheese sandwhich was awesome. Fun listening to lady call out orders. White Mocha coffee was wonderful. Good local place to relax and enjoy Sunday paper.
