In my Tripadvisor searches before our visit to Sonoma, I was most excited about this place! I love bakery stuff and one of my favorites in sourdough bread. This was supposedly one of their "specialties." Well, I bought a cheese croissant and a bank oaf of sourdough. The croissant was so STALE, it was almost unedible. The bread did not... More

My wife and I were staying outside of town and decided to come in for some coffee and pastries. This place delivered on the pastry front-almond and apricot scone and cherry turnover. We bought a couple and enjoyed across the street in the square. I would recommend trying this place if you like scones, donuts, etc.

Worth stopping by for breakfast or lunch as they have great baked goodies and good coffee. Not really a sit-down place, but more of a grab and go.

Every time we visit our daughter in this area, we go to Sonoma's town square and have coffee and breakfast or lunch at the Basque Cafe/ Bakery. After ordering a fresh baguette (Brie and prosciutto for me), freshly baked pastry (yummy beehive custard cake), vanilla latte or a glass of Sonoma wine, sit outside to enjoy it even more. Locals... We stopped here for a quick breakfast on the way to the winery tours of the day. I had a croissant with ham, eggs and american cheese. It was flaky, warm and delicious. My husband had the coffee and said it was very good.

Basque Boulangerie is an inexpensive bakery/deli with home made breads and various pastry items. They serve a dozen or so sandwiches, and a few other items, for lunch. It has a cozy bustling atmosphere and perhaps this explains much of its appeal. Basque is quite popular with locals and tourists, which as I have said I fail to understand given... More

Food and coffee was outstanding as was service. Toughest thing was deciding which item to order (I ended up getting 2 rather than making the choice). I went 2 days in a row it was so good. I highly recommend it.
