Having dinner at this lovely restaurant was a special treat for us on our Solvang trip. Delicious food and friendly and attentive waitstaff.

We were told the wait was 20-30 minutes, we waited 45 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was rude and unprofessional. My husband had a question about an item, and the waiter was so rushed he just took my menu and started walking away! We...said "Excuse me sir, we have a question" as though we were the ones bothering him. We had to ask for water 3 times before it actually arrived at our table. And and repeatedly had to request for refills on water. When our food did arrive, I received the wrong dish, the waiter's assistant called the waiter to our table, it took him 4 minutes to arrive, he realized he made the error, no apology no explanation, he just grabbed my plate and walked away. 12 minutes later my dish arrived, by then my husband was done with him meal, which he shared with me. I received a bowl of watery, tasteless flavorless noodles with such a small amount of sauce that totally tasted like Heinze tomato sauce from the can. When I did place my order I asked the waiter if the meat sauce was very meaty because I don't prefer the watered down sauces, he says "yes, the sauce has a lot of meat". I took a photos of my dish but can't upload it to tripadvisor. My noodles were pale white, hardly any meat in the sauce, which was bad enough considering there was such a small amount of sauce at the bottom of the bowl. Lazy cooking. The girl who finally refilled our drinks asked "how's everything?" I said to her, "not very good actually, it's flavorless, no seasoning, hardly any sauce". She says "ok", and just walked away. LOL. Lazy cooking, tasteless food, terrible customer service.More

Thanks for your review, certainly something we can learn from. Needless to say, we hope you return when the pandemic has subsided and we aren't continuously being ordered to close, open, close and open ect. Please except my apologies, stay safe and healthy.

TL;DR : DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, YOUR ***TIME*** AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! Full review: I was really hoping to like this place, but the HORRENDOUS customer service absolutely KILLED it for me. When we arrived, we had a 35 minute wait, which...was fine, but when we were seated, they barely gave us a few minutes to review the menu and order. Ironically, once we ordered our food, no one came to check up on us for over an HOUR. I consider myself a pretty patient person and don't mind waiting for food, but the restaurant could at least have done a better job communicating that our food was taking longer than expected. Not once did anyone come by and see how we were doing, and we finally had to ask for a water refill after an HOUR. I understand that in these hard times, restaurants are understaffed and suffer longer waiting times, but when I am IGNORED for an hour without an explanation, that is just unacceptable. When our food finally arrived, no one even acknowledged that we had just waited an hour for our food. A simple apology - *words* - would have been appreciated. To top it all off, when I approached the manager at the end of my meal, he gave me the most insincere apology of all. I didn't ask for anything from him, I just explained how my experience was extremely disappointing, and to please communicate better with his customers in the future. I also work in customer service, and I am constantly looking for ways to help customers have the best experience possible. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be the same with this restaurant. It was clear that this manager/owner was not apologetic whatsoever with how his restaurant performed, and that is the worst part of all. As for a review of the food - the pasta was decent, but I've had much better creme brulee.More

My wife and I decided that we wanted to be able to walk to our dining establishments after returning to our Solvang hotel after a day of wine-tasting. We discovered Osteria Grappolo and made a reservation on a whim. Our server (Juan) was great; the...food was flavorful and plentiful as we brought home generous leftovers. For appetizers, we enjoyed the fried Mozzarella Fritta and the Primavera salad. My wife had linguine with clams; I had the salmon special. We complemented our meal with the Barbera Sanger. The food and wine were delicious!More

The Adventure Buddies had lunch at Osterio Grappolo with some family friends sitting outside enjoying a nice meal of salads and pasta. They are taking all the necessary safety precautions which was nice to see.

Solvang closes up early it seems. We were looking for a place to eat around 7pm and happened on this restaurant. There was going to be a 20 min wait so we waited on the patio even though it was a little chilly. We were...dressed warmly enough and it was so pleasant we asked if we could eat outside. Even though there was no one else eating out there, they started up 2 space heaters, brought the delicious bread and we were off and running. We had carbonara, lasagna with a tomato cream sauce, and rissoto primavera. It was all delicious. Service was excellent as well. Much better than the Italian restaurant we ate at the previous night a couple of blocks away.More

We had a wonderful time eating dinner here last week, all the dishes were authentic Italian. We started off with some Prosciutto, Mortadella, Capocollo, cheese, olives and bread which were all beautifully laid on a large cutting board. For the main course my daughter had...the Gnocchi’s, they were the perfect consistency and the Bolognese sauce was delicious. My wife and son had the salmon special and both loved it, I enjoyed the Chicken Piccata while my Dad had the capellini. They have a nice wine and beer selection which we used eagerly and for dessert we shared a wonderfully prepared plate Pannacotta and one Tortino al Cioccolato along with a round of Cappuccinos. The service was perfect, and we loved the atmosphere. They have a long table with chairs facing Mission Drive so on nice days (which is usually every day in Solvang) you can sit outside and watch what’s going on in the busy city of Solvang. I recommend this place to everyone, if you like real Italian food you will love this place.More

We split a caprese salad and a chicken piccata -- both were average. The chicken piccata or its sauce or the vegetables has a "fishy" taste making one wonder whether there had been a mishap in the kitchen. The pannacotta, however, was excellent. The service...was attentive, although it was very difficult to understand the list of specials.More

For our Funday Friday, we decided to give Ossetia Grappolo a try. Our first visit and we very happy with our choice. First, we were greeted by Eric, our favorite server in the valley. He remembered our wine favorites from previous visits at other places....Octopus salad, burrata salad and lentil soup were excellent. Bread pudding and cappuccino did an excellent “end of the show”. Beautiful property, inside and out. Very nice patio for the good weather and equally nice inside when wanted. Very nice bar area for hanging out. Everyone was very friendly.More
