My wife and I decided that we wanted to be able to walk to our dining establishments after returning to our Solvang hotel after a day of wine-tasting. We discovered Osteria Grappolo and made a reservation on a whim. Our server (Juan) was great; the food was flavorful and plentiful as we brought home generous leftovers. For appetizers, we enjoyed the fried Mozzarella Fritta and the Primavera salad. My wife had linguine with clams; I had the salmon special. We complemented our meal with the Barbera Sanger. The food and wine were delicious!

The positives-Seafood pasta excellent,Bread with oo and balsamic the best.Ceasar salad average. When we asked the female waiter to describe the specials along with the prices she snickered and was hard to understand. She asked if we wanted shared plates for an extra $2 and we declined.She divided the meal anyway and charged us.Also a credit card fee was applied.

We will be leaving to travel home tomorrow after our 10 dsy road trip. We didnt want to cook dinner so we walked a half mile to this restaurant.
The menu had a nice selection but since we are Italians, we knew what we wanted. We started off with a Caprese Salad. I had a taste and it was delicious. My daughter had pennee with a light red cream sauce with sausage meat. She shared a few tastes with me. It was exwuisito. I had Fussili in pesto and frehs tomatoes 🍅. The fresh bread dipped in olive 🫒 oil and balsamic was a tasty treat. Be warned that they charge extra for a refilled basket of bread. In fairness to the restaurant, it was noted on the menu. My daughter enjoyed a glass of pinot noire. Service was quick. Prices were reasonable for a resort town.

Solvang closes up early it seems. We were looking for a place to eat around 7pm and happened on this restaurant. There was going to be a 20 min wait so we waited on the patio even though it was a little chilly. We were dressed warmly enough and it was so pleasant we asked if we could eat outside. Even though there was no one else eating out there, they started up 2 space heaters, brought the delicious bread and we were off and running. We had carbonara, lasagna with a tomato cream sauce, and rissoto primavera. It was all delicious. Service was excellent as well. Much better than the Italian restaurant we ate at the previous night a couple of blocks away.

We saw decent reviews of this restaurant so we were hopeful. We got seated quickly, but they seemed upset that we wanted to change tables since we were right by the door and some of us didn’t have sweaters with us. Once we ordered it went downhill! One person got their food and the other 3 had to wait almost 40 more minutes to receive their food. And they didn’t receive their food until after we asked our waitress, who said it would be any minute and it was 10 minutes later with no progress. After that we complained to the manager and mentioned leaving without our food. The remaining dishes came out less than 5 minutes after that complaint. We were given 2 free desserts, but definitely feel like that was the easy way out of “making it right”. We were told “they had a ticketing issue” with their system, but tables around us continued to get their food before us. Fortunately the upside was the food was delicious!

While spending a couple of nights in Solvang we decided to eat here one night based on TA reviews. The food and service was excellent, something I didn’t expect in a location known for its Dutch Food and Pastries. We started out with the Cesarina Salad which had a great tasting home made Caesar type dressing, delicious! My wife had the Spaghetti Carbonara which was creamy and very good. She said it was one of the best she ever had and since this is her go to meal at most Italian Restaurants it had to be good. I had the Spaghetti with Meatballs in a delicious meat sauce. It comes with a Marinara Sauce but they were very accommodating when I asked for the meat sauce. The meal had a lot of Meatballs in it which were very tasty. For Dolci my wife had the Tiramisu and I had the Spinoni Gelato which were both delicious. I’ve been to a lot of Italian Restaurants from the SF Bay Area to New York but I’d rate this place right up there with the best of them!

Excellent place for dinner with family, friends, or couples! The calamari, two pasta dishes, and dessert were all rich, delicious and filling especially with wine would definitely return if visiting the area. Reservations recommended if coming during peak season in Solvang especially Julesfest.

We happened on this restaurant while headed to another that was fully reserved. The food was excellent in quality, presentation and portions. Fairly priced.
The crab cakes appetizer came with a delicious fresh arugula salad. We also had the fusili pesto and risotto.

I had a scallop-asparagus-cherrytomato risotto. 10*
Wife had a 10 star salmon w veggies
Mine was as good as risotto gets w shaved cheese and mild herbs
Salads are large....split one. Get the Primavera.
Wines are acceptable......as is the coffee
Panna Cotta dessert is 9 star
Service and ambience quite nice

We were hoping for some good Italian food as this place came recommended by a winery in the area. My friend & I both ordered Chicken Fettucine Alfredo with a Ceasar Salad. The salad was fresh and was a nice size. The pasta dish on the other hand was gross. The noodles were overcooked, the chicken was literally unseasoned chunks of boiled chicken and the sauce was disgusting. Absolutely no flavor to the dish whatsoever. It was a waste of a $75 dinner.

The food was solid but uninspiring, good without being delicious. The scallops were overcooked, and the sole was a bit on the bland side. The service, when you could get it, was slow. Seems like they are understaffed for the number of diners they are trying to serve.

I'm really blown away, as to the negative reviews I have seen for this restaurant. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Sorry, but if you know anything about quality Italian cuisine, then you know, what you have received here is something special. We had the spaghetti carbonara, and the penne bolonese. It was spectacular. The service was outstanding, and wine was great.. Don't hesitate to eat here. It is pretty and delicious.

We took a chance as we strolled through downtown and were glad we did. We were seated immediately at an outside table (our request), and service was very good. Food was excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable. We'd go there again in a heartbeat on a future trip!

The food here is your average, tourist town Italian restaurant. Pasta is fine. Wine list is fine. The best thing we ordered was the salad. Service was a bit slow, but they tried really hard to make the experience nice. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Dinner was ok, but not great. Service was prompt and very pleasant. Food, again, was just ok. My wife’s cooking is much, much better, which I know does not say a lot. Atmosphere was just average. I would try another place next time, just because this dinner was not memorable.
