We stayed at the Hamlet Inn and enjoyed the included breakfast at Olsen's Bakery. The bear claw and almond surprise were excellent paired with fresh hot coffee.

Some places never change. Been coming here for the last 8 years, and it's always a real treat. The wait staff is always friendly and professional. The tables and setting are always spotlessly clean and done in very good taste. The pastry and coffee is wonderful. The ambiance is superb. We always Stay across the street at the Solvang Inn... Thank you for the 5 Star Review and your patronage. Just a little history Bent and Susy moved here in 1970 from Denmark and have kept the same recipes that the family used at the bakery in Denmark. They take a lot of pride in the fact that Olsen's pastries are "Authentic Danish." More

During a recent visit to Solvang, Olsen's was our first stop. My wife opted for gluten-free strawberry meringues. I'm a sucker for marzipan. Guess where we stopped again on our way out of town?!

I found out that the pastries to the hotels are supplied by Olsen's. So while I did not go to Olsen's, I had a cheese pastry and a blueberry pastry. I can still taste them, perfect amount of filling and flakiness.

Whenever in Solvang, my husband searches for the rumballs he remembers from his youth. Usually we try several bakeries and he ends up disappointed. But our first stop on this trip was Olsen's and they did not disappoint! The rumballs were delicious and have a real rum taste--not rum flavoring, but rum liquor. We also got an eclair and it... We went for breakfast at olsens Danish bakery. The place reminded us of Danish pastry but it had an amercanized sense to it.

I just don't understand what people see in this place, or any of the bakeries in Solvang. I haven't had anything here that I loved, which to me, means butter. I am pretty sure they use shortening instead, which doesn't give you the right flavor. On the plus side, Olsen's does use a bit more topping than other bakeries in... More

We help Mr. Olsen, with Olsen's Danish Village Bakery reviews. He and I recently discussed a very similar review on Yelp regarding the butter and shortening and how some recipes require both while some require butter only. Olsen's has received several awards for their Danish pastries and we know that we can not appeal to every taste. Mr. Olsen did... More

Stopped in for a breakfast pastry and ended up getting three to share with my wife they all looked so good. The Danish pancake was so good it was unreal. They were so rich and tasty. We ended up taking the third to go. Great stop for a treat.
