We just wrapped up a with a soccer tournament in Del Mar and wanted to find a quick bite near there and we found this gem! It's a bit of a maze to walk through, but well worth getting lost in. Loved the vibe, loved the music, loved the food!

This place is so cute. It looks small but there are multiple levels and pockets of tables. We went on a busy Del Mar Racetrack race weekend and only waited 20 minutes for a table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I had the appetizer sampler plate with beef and it was excellent. Tons of food. My dinner companion... More

We've been going to Fidel's for years - it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in San Diego. Great food!

This is our go-to place for Mexican! Authentic food and a fun environment. The food is always great and it's a lot of fun when we have company in town. Mark, the manager, is wonderful and always a great host!

Been making the drive up here for 30 years but today will be the last time for me. Stale chips canned beef in enchilada slow service and general appearance has lowered their standards. Was worried about husbands crab burrito the crab was so strong I could not swallow my taste. Rich said his taste buds finally got use to it... More

We went on a Saturday night, so we had about a 45 minute wait. We were seated outside on one of there patios. Service was OK as they were busy and so we saw our service person minimally. Order Crab Burrito, Enchilada, and Carne Asada Burrito and everything was delicious. A number of people moved outside onto the patio as... More

Fidel's is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. A perfect plate to split is the shrimp fajitas. The grilled shrimp and veggies are so flavorful! My sister's favorite are the chicken flautas and my Mom always loves her cheese enchiladas. I also love the albondigas!

The food is good but has become a bit pricey for what you get. Apparently quite a few people are willing to pay $10.50 for the cheapest Margarita and $3.25 for ice tea. Mexican food used to be a good value but some places like Fidel's and the restaurants owned by Diane Powers (Case di Bandini, Cafe Guadulaja, Sol y... More

Our second day in San Diego and we wanted Mexican food, of course we checked Trip Advisor and Fidel's was close As well as the highest rated in the area. I figured a place named Fidels had to be great !!! Got there around 7pm and parking is sketchy but we found some place to park. Checked in with No... More

The staff at the hotel that we were staying at in La Jolla recommended this place for good Mexican food. The location is definitely out of the way but we trusted our GPS and found the restaurant. The restaurant had multiple levels and was well maintained. The ambiance was nice but very active with staff movement. Food was plentiful and... More
