Finding ourselves in awe of the natural beauty of Solana Beach we realized that dinner should be something we should have. Checked reviews on TA and decided on Fidel's. Great decision, my wife who is not particularly a fan of Mexican fare absolutely fell for the place. This is a big restaurant but do not be deterred the staff there... More

My wife and I went for dinner on a Saturday. Received a ho-hum greeting from the hostess who then seated us all the way in the back near the waiter service station although the place was not even half full. Having the waiters eating, drinking and talking amongst themselves throughout or meal was a turn off. Our server was quite... More

I lived in the San Diego area some 38 years ago and frequented Fidel's back then for both lunch and dinner. So on a recent trip to San Diego, I just had to go back here. First, the restaurant is now much larger with a covered outdoor "patio section", where my wife and I had dinner. Second, the area it... More

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. The atmosphere is colorful lively & fun. Margaritas were outstanding & the food was excellent! A very friendly atmosphere and I understand they have been in business for a long time. They give you a lot of food too! We will definitely go back!

A converted barbershop has grown and become a local favorite for a variety of Mexican food. Our favorite is the fajitas that are made with chile peppers instead of peppers. Inconsistent portions from time to time, but great white meat chicken or tasty steak. Large portions at a reasonable price.

Every trip we make to San Diego results in at least three or more trips to Fidel's. Great Mexican food, the atmosphere is wonderful and it seems we never can get enough of the chips and salsa!

As Solana Beach locals, we have been to Fidel's many times, and it never disappoints. Reliably highly rated on Zagat survey, This is some of the better Mexican food among many choices in the area. Carne Asada is excellent, combination dishes are reliably very good. Giant chili Riano's are awesome. Fun atmosphere in a rambling traditional Mexican Adobe style facility,... More

Was in San Diego on business and was told about this place. It's just okay, not quite the place I would go out of my way to eat. Had a Torta, bread was great, fillings and what not was blah.

We just wrapped up a with a soccer tournament in Del Mar and wanted to find a quick bite near there and we found this gem! It's a bit of a maze to walk through, but well worth getting lost in. Loved the vibe, loved the music, loved the food!
