The restaurant is excellent. But the "side" coffee/bakery next door is poor. The pastries are so uneven. A few, such as their bear claw are very good, but most are tasteless and just plain stale. It makes me wonder if the main restaurant uses this...venue to get rid of day old (or older) pastries and sandwiches. For a place that promotes healthy dining, this side business is an embarrassment.More

found this gem while having a quick memorial day getaway in Solana Beach and we definitely loved the place and their food! they would ask you to place your orders first by their bakery and once you get your number, they will have you seated...down if you prefer to dine in. they have all the tables sanitized and ready for dine in customers. tables are arranged for keeping at least 6 ft away from each other. masks are required upon entering until they have you seated down. such a cozy and relaxing place to get your brunch. and its close to the beach too!More

Local farm eggs and all natural local ingredients equal brilliant breakfast choices. From fruit and granola bowls to egg dishes, our group of 4 were happily satisfied.

Had a wonderful breakfast here while visiting San Diego. The food and service were both excellent. The cafe is very quaint, perfect for breakfast. Highly recommend eating there.

This hidden gem has been a go to spot for me and my family for the last several years. Our favorite items are the Benedict's or eggs with hash browns, bacon and raisin walnut toast. Have also tried the french toast which is delicious. Service...is great and we love the outside patio area. Check out a mimosa too! It can be a wait for a table especially on the weekends but well worth it!More

My wife and I finally went to Claire’s for lunch the other day. It was great. I had eggs and enchiladas. My wife had a turkey melt. Both very well prepared, but lots of other good choices on the menu. Service was excellent. My only...negative was how busy it was. At 1 PM we still ended up at a bad table in the middle of the room that got a huge cold air draft every time the front door was opened or closed. That can happen at a popular restaurant! We will be back, hopefully at a better table.More

I knew this place was popular, known for long lines, so I never have gone on the weekends with my wife who has no tolerance for waiting for food. So, here it is Thursday morning at 10:00AM and it was brimming with people. I did...not have to wait, but got a crummy table by the door in the middle. Very busy and people had to walk around my all the time. That is my only compaint. The service started a little slow, but took off, good decaf and a had this risotta paresian bacon benedict. Interesting bottom of creamy but firm pasta cake with bacon on top with the perfect poached egg and sauce. Hash browns were super crispy, perfect and stawberry jam for my toast great. I may not get back beacuse of the distance and wait (looks like a nice outside patio to sit as well), but if in solana beach will try to be backMore

This restaurant is not on the main shopping blocks of Cedros, it's kind of tucked away next to some other businesses. But it's worth the extra few steps to get there. They have a great menu and the food was everything the menu promised. They...have gluten free options, great coffees and it was comfortable and friendly.More

Prior to our recent trip to Solana Beach, a little research showed me that it would only make sense to eat at least one meal at this highly-rated breakfast/lunch spot and now, after eating both breakfast and lunch there, I understand what the excitement is...all about! Our breakfast visit had us arrive at around 10AM on New Year's Eve day, so there was an estimated 20 minute wait. We were asked for our phone number and rec'd a text telling us that our table was ready shortly thereafter (there's free coffee on the front porch while you wait) and we taken to a nice table out on the back patio. Our server Dustin was very attentive and after taking our drink orders, left us to look over the menu. The menu is quite impressive, offering something for everyone - benedicts, french toast, hashes, eggs and much more. I ordered something called a "Beach Bowl" that included fresh fruits, yogurt, acai and more on top of house-made cherry granola, while my wife ordered the "California Omelet" that featured asparagus, mushrooms, arugula, herbs and cheese, with a side of rosemary sourdough toast. Our food was delivered after a short wait and, I have to tell you, everything was just delicious, the result of using really good ingredients and careful preparation. The toast was noteworthy and, although we didn't order one, we saw the house biscuits on plates as they whisked by, and they looked top-notch as well. Service was great and so, after that first experience, we knew we'd need to return for lunch, which we did a few days later. Again, although this restaurant's site says that they're the area's "best-kept secret", the small crowd we found waiting for a table at lunch tells me that the secret is out! For this meal, my wife ordered the house "Classic" cheese burger, while I tried a veggie sandwich with cucumbers, avocado and a lot of other delicious ingredients. Again, everything was perfectly executed and tasted great. Our only complaint was that, this time, we sat inside and the volume level was a bit high at times (sat next to a table of "loud-talkers" - our bad luck). In any case, I can't imagine that any visit to Claire's would be less-than-great, so if you're in the area, you owe it to yourselves to pay them a visit.More

Great place for breakfast or lunch. DH and I each ordered something and told them; they split the fish and brought the food on individual plates. That’s really nice! I ordered salmon pear fennel salad and he ordered wild mahi mahi (2) tacos. Would order...both again. Generally a very busy restaurant. They don’t take reservations. I think I liked it better before they changed hands. All out the door for $35More
