We are a cafe and bakery located in the heart of Solana Beach. We specialize in fresh, homemade, California-style comfort food as well as a variety of homemade breads, pastries and desserts. We are family friendly, dog friendly, and most of all just plain friendly, so come on in and check us out!

lovely place for brunch dates

found this gem while having a quick memorial day getaway in Solana Beach and we definitely loved the place and their food! they would ask you to place your orders first by their bakery and once you get your number, they will have you seated down if you prefer to dine in. they have all the tables sanitized and ready for dine in customers. tables are arranged for keeping at least 6 ft away from each other. masks are required upon entering until they have you seated down. such a cozy and relaxing place to get your brunch. and its close to the beach too!

Stellar customer service!

For some reason they had a rush of orders all at once so the service was unusually slow. We never complained as we were enjoying our visit sipping our coffee w/family not seen in a year on their cozy outdoor patio! I had waffles (w/side of fresh fruit) which was delicious & my husband had an egg dish which was very good (perfect sized portions). Let’s just say the management made the wait worth our while & we were delightfully surprised w/their customer service. 😁They also gave us shortbread cookies as a treat!

Grand Central Breakfast

I knew this place was popular, known for long lines, so I never have gone on the weekends with my wife who has no tolerance for waiting for food. So, here it is Thursday morning at 10:00AM and it was brimming with people. I did not have to wait, but got a crummy table by the door in the middle. Very busy and people had to walk around my all the time. That is my only compaint. The service started a little slow, but took off, good decaf and a had this risotta paresian bacon benedict. Interesting bottom of creamy but firm pasta cake with bacon on top with the perfect poached egg and sauce. Hash browns were super crispy, perfect and stawberry jam for my toast great. I may not get back beacuse of the distance and wait (looks like a nice outside patio to sit as well), but if in solana beach will try to be back

Terribly Uneven

The restaurant is excellent. But the "side" coffee/bakery next door is poor. The pastries are so uneven. A few, such as their bear claw are very good, but most are tasteless and just plain stale. It makes me wonder if the main restaurant uses this venue to get rid of day old (or older) pastries and sandwiches. For a place that promotes healthy dining, this side business is an embarrassment.

Worth the trip to Solana Beach

For our frequent trips to San Diego we now stay in Solana Beach just so that we are near Claire's and can get there early in the morning before it really gets crowded. Have eaten here many times and we keep coming back because the food is so fantastic and the staff is beyond friendly. Never had a single dish that I would not recommend. My daughter had hot chocolate this time and it was so smooth and delicious. Do not pass up Claire's but make sure you get here early or you might have a long wait, but it is worth it.

Great spot for breakfast!

This hidden gem has been a go to spot for me and my family for the last several years. Our favorite items are the Benedict's or eggs with hash browns, bacon and raisin walnut toast. Have also tried the french toast which is delicious. Service is great and we love the outside patio area. Check out a mimosa too! It can be a wait for a table especially on the weekends but well worth it!

Amazing Food

This restaurant is not on the main shopping blocks of Cedros, it's kind of tucked away next to some other businesses. But it's worth the extra few steps to get there. They have a great menu and the food was everything the menu promised. They have gluten free options, great coffees and it was comfortable and friendly.

Excellent Breakfast!

We visited the area for the first time ever during a pandemic so we knew our dining experience would be one like no other. Claire's appeared to have outdoor dining options however in March it was still very chilly so we opted to order a carry out order and picked it up to take back to our condo. The portions were huge and each of our meals were excellent. Also indulged in the coffee cake - YUM!

Delicious, nutritious food!

My husband and I enjoyed breakfast at Claire’s. There was a long wait for an outdoor table at 0730, but no wait for indoors. Our waiter was very friendly - personality plus! - and knowledgeable about the menu items. The food was beyond standard cafe breakfast items in creativity, presentation and flavor. Will definitely return for breakfast, and want to try their yummy-looking lunch menu too!

Great for lunch!

Excellent for lunch! We went after hiking on a Tuesday and were seated immediately! The staff were very helpful in menu information, along with having a cheery and kind disposition. Our food was so superb! The Salmon Fennel salad has a ton of toppings and the steak was cooked perfectly. My only criticism is that the bathroom was messy.

Our new favorite breakfast spot. The dishes were fresh, tasty, and fairly priced. Plenty of parking. Service was great. The only confusing thing is we checked in online but when we arrived we still waited nearly 15 min just to get to the hostess. People were being seated as walk ups even though the app told us it was a 45 min wait. Odd and a bit frustrating.

Pleasant Spot for Lunch or Brunch

This is a popular lunch place only. They have more tables outside in the back in a pleasant patio space. It is standard sandwich and salad fare as you would expect, but also has breakfast dishes as well making it good for a weekend brunch. They do have a full bar (for a Bloody Mary) which is unusual for many typical lunch establishments. The food is very good. The service is always friendly and attentive. I have never had a bad experience with the latter. There is a takeout bakery and coffee shop next door where we have purchased good croissants in the past. We will be repeat customers.

Fabulous breakfast!

Had a fabulous breakfast. Possibly the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Omelette was outstanding. My wife had the vegetable tacos and they were great. There was a small mixup on her order, not a big deal at all, and they fixed it and then they ended up comping the entire breakfast!! I told him they did not have to do that but they insisted. we will definitely be back for sure.

Breakfast and vibes 10/10

Amazing service and food. Menu selection is not overwhelming and a good selection is presented. Coffee is good and they make their own inhouse coconut milk. The vibe is very friendly with humans and dogs allowed outside. Great place for family/friends or small breakfast date. If I was in the area I’d definitely go there again.

WAS DOUBLE CHARGED AND MANAGEMENT WILL NOT GET BACK TO ME ABOUT THE ISSUE.

I ate here over a month ago and was double charged. I am active duty military in the Navy and was underway for about a week so I did not notice the discrepancy immediately. When I did notice, I called in and told the employee who answered the phone my issue. They took down my information and assured me that a manager would get back to me. It has now been over three weeks, and I have yet to speak to a manager. I have followed up a FEW times, but whenever I speak to an employee, they give me the same answer, "We have your information and the person who deals with these issues will get back to you." I am sick of being ignored. I have been more than reasonable in the timeliness of my waiting to be refunded, or at the very least, acknowledged. All I want is what is rightfully mine, MY money. I will be going into the restaurant tomorrow to address this issue in person, as I guarantee they will have a difficult time ignoring my existence in person.
